Let me get this correct... Lets say you have 3 computers and 3 users.

(Computer 1,2,3 & User 1,2,3) on a LAN in WORKGROUP.

You say that "USER1 on computer01" Prints "Hi.doc"

and it will show the pop-up message in the right corner of the screen "This Doc was sent to the printer" On "Computer01 , User01"

and also display that same message on "USER2 on Computer02" and "USER3 on Computer03"???? ?

Is this correct?

After much thought and trying to figure out how it is possible that you are getting a message on all the computers at once... I decided to set up the same thing at my house... after setting up 3 computers and logging on all on a WORKGROUP I shared out a printer and printed off PC1

got the message but did not get the message on any other computer. You issue I find rather odd. My suggestion is this

Take all 3 computers off the WORKGROUP by naming them something like 1 2 3 4

restart and one by one join them together again... and on each join print something from one and see if your issue is still there if it is please let me know.

Next step would be disabling the message completely

Hi Chrisjc

Thanks for the reply.

I tried the way you suggested. Still the problem is not solved. I also tried by stopping the messenger service , that also not worked.

We have an employee table that contains bank details and are experiencing problems with account numbers being erased and lost. In order to track down why this is happening (either due to our application code or SQL replication) we'd like to be able to prevent certain columns from being deleted if they already contain some data. Is it possible to setup a check constraint to prevent our ee_acct_no columns from being set to NULL or blank...

Is there a more concise way to do something like the the desired code below? The gripe is with the try-catch syntax. It takes *way* too many lines of code to evaluate a conditional expression when zero or more parts of the conditional expression may trigger an error. In this case, the trigger is a call to a non-defined (null) object. In other words, how can you do a more simple 'try' statement

Hi All-- I'm a bit stymied here. I need to display arbitrary HTML obtained through AJAX. The problem is when a <script> block is encountered one can't use innerHTML to set the content, because the <script> block won't be evaluated. Googling around, a found the createContextualFragment() solution which does execute script code. The following, for example, works:

This may be in the wrong forum, but here goes. How can I display an alert in the users browser window from an asp page. For example, a welcome message. I know I can do this with response.write, but I'd like to have a general method of displaying messages to the user. Thanks a lot all.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
