mouse/keyboard freezing

2 New Member
When my computer is starting up everything starts to be loaded then both the mouse and keyboard freeze stoppping the loading of the rest of the programs i then have to do a manual disconnect and re load but the same thing happens. I hope something can be done. I have done both a destructive and non destructive restore but none seem to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like over-heating. Try making sure that fans are running and that heatsinks are clear of huge dust bunnies.

Greetings, I have a very simple question. How do you simulate a user input to turn off a screen saver in Windows (either a mouse movement, mouse click, or keyboard input)? I promise I searched the newsgroup before asking :) I have written the following program that loads all my Webshots files into the Webshots photo manager, or so I thought. When you load the first it starts the screen saver. All other subsequent ones are not

Is it just me or are there no good librarys out there to access the keyboard or mouse? I have been looking around for a while now and can only find ones that are bundled with a bunch of other stuff that I dont need (SDL, GLUT). I just need a simple platform independant way to access the keyboard and mouse. Anyone know of any good ones?

I am using Visual C# .NET 2003 to make a ComboBox accept both mouse and keyboard selection. For mouse selection code, I double-clicked ComboBox to get the default "comboBox1_SelectedIndexChanged" event. This code (see below) by itself works as expected with a mouse. But when using keyboard arrows to navigate the ComboBox drop- down, the SelectedIndexChanged event is triggered which is what I don't want using the keyboard. Instead, I want...

Hi all, I have been searching for a keyboard and mouse tracker on linux. I've read solutions (watch at sourceforge) which look at /proc/interrupts to check keyboard or mouse activity. I also read one post where "watch" seems to have difficulty tracking usb keyboards and mice. So, I'm out of ideas here. My goal are: 1. Check keyboard activity. I'm not interested in logging which keys are pressed or record them.

I have an application that NEEDS (don't ask) to handle additional mouse and keyboard processing during DoDragDrop. Normally, DoDragDrop kindly squashes all keyboard and mouse events. Alternate, more specific events, are used in their stead such as DragEnter, DragLeave, DragHover, GiveFeedback, and QueryContinueDrag. None of these give me access to the general state of the keyboard or to mouse events ( in my case I really need the mouse...

Is it possible to simulate a mouse click in the window I made (it's a Form), but not give it focus? I tried using WinAPI's mouseevent and SendMessage of WM_LBUTTONDOWN/WM_LBUTTONUP as suggested by the folks in #winapi on EFnet, but I think those require the window to have focus. Either that, or I'm doing something else wrong. The click actually seems to work once, and then stops working... I have no idea what is the problem actually....

-windows xp -dell dimension 9150 The computer starts normally, loads up the blue login screen. I can move the cursor around the screen and type on keyboard. Then after roughly 3 seconds (always this amount of time) the cursor freezes, the mouse inoperable and the keyboard locks up at the same time (num lock light goes out). I have to manually restart.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
