Looking for a CPU Temperature Monitor for my Dell GX240 mobo

I've tried many of the downloadable options. Does this board even have a sensor on it?
I just got hmonitor; will try that next. I have tried SpeedFan and version 5 something of what looked like the most popular (can't pull the name off the top of my head), but there was no Dell GX support there.

I'm running XP Pro SP2.

After much more searching, I found Everest. It's a very well-put-together piece of software (not free, though). I can say with 99% certainty that there is no CPU temperature sensor on the Dell GX240.

A side note: Many of my searches brought me back here. Nice work team TSDN!

If you look at the Everest's FAQ, it says that Dell computers uses a different sensor chip and it is not supported by Everest. I also have a GX240 and haven't found a Temperature Monitor. In the Dell official site, there is a "Dell Diagnostic software" or something like that (you can find it in support>drivers and downloads), but I didn't try it (it needs floppy drives to install and I had none :P), so if you try it, or if you find a monitor that works for the GX240, please let me know.

Yeah. I stayed away from the diag download as well. It runs from a boot disk and I want a GUI application. I'll keep this thread up-to-date, though I don't hold out much hope of finding it.

Thanks for the input.

Thanks, Kijoki. I really like what I've been reading in your posts.

I think that MoBo Monitor was one of the first ones that I tried. Perhaps I'll give it another shot, though.

Hello, Say I have a server that's saving the CPU temperature to 'temperature.js' once a second. The contents of the file is one single line: var temperature = "35.5"; And it changes as the temperature changes.

I'm trying to have this program do a simple temperature conversion from Fahrenheit to Celsius. I have confirmed that the other variable is receiving and calculating the conversion, but it is just outputting as "0". Any thoughts? (Code is below) #include <iostream> #include <iomanip> using namespace std;

An LCD monitor with keyboard and mouse capabilities on it, thinnest possible, to hang on rack-door can be a boon for expensive spaces of datawarehouses. Has anyone come across one? Maybe someone would go into manufacturing it. £800 Dell product I am told occupies equivalent of two server space in a rack.

Hi there, I am trying to use pyserial to read data from a temperature logger device (T-logger). T-logger is based on the DS1615 temperature recorder chip (Dallas Semiconductor). According to the DS1615 docs, writing to the chip is performed one byte at a time. To read from the chip, one must issue the "read page" command (33h), followed by the two-byte address of the requested page (pages are 32 bytes long). After receiving this, the...

I am absolutely stuck with this one. I have to create a temperature conversion calculator that rounds the resulting temperature to the nearest whole number & vice versa. The result must be displayed in a window alert. The given formula is (Fahrenheit_temp - 32) * .55 The only tip/clue I have is to use var tempInCelcius = (document.Converter.fahrenheit.value - 32) * .55; var tempInFahrenheit = (document.Converter.celcius.value * 1.8) + 32 ...

Hello all, I have a older dell laptop that is about 5-7 years old. I suspect either processor or MoBo issues. Let me know your opinions. Symtoms: On pressing the power button, indicator lights come on but, after 3-5 secs shut off. Fans and hard drive don't appear to spool. I've already checked the battery and tried running on AC. No audible beeps are present. Any suggestions? Regards, Bender

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
