Any internet speed booster?

14 New Member
Hey somebody,

Is there any way to increase internet speed at 512kbps for download, 256 for upload other than pay ISP more money or adding more memory? Like change certain registry setting or software that drive and optimize the hardware performance?

Will monitor whether is a LCD or CRT can affect the internet speed performance?

The limit is not set by anything at your end of the link (including memory). The only way to make you link go faster is to pay your ISP to increase your speed limit.

Monitors have no effect on the speed of your internet. There are some websites that talk about how to remove bandwidth caps from your ISP but if you do that your ISP is likely to charge you for using the increased bandwidth or ban your account, or both.

Also, try to clear your cache, cookies, and so on. It sounds like you go on-line a lot, if this is the case, cookies and such may be slowing you down...

I am not aware of other probalbe causes, and as mentioned here, you may need to fork over some moola to get up to speed.

You may also consider checking your adapter, see if it set at full duplex.

Sorry for your troubles.

Another good thing to try is contacting your ISP's tech support.

Hi, I've been using an Access application I wrote for an office with the front-end stored on all computers and the back-end on one of them serving as an Access file server. Now we're moving to a 2nd office 15 minutes down the road. Only one office will be open at a time, so theoretically it'd be possible to copy the back-end manually every night from one office to another, but frankly, that's pretty annoying.

I just read at http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.access.forms/browse_frm/thread/766ba7b493eacb63/8a7d5504ee848c21?lnk=st&q=migrate+access+97+to+access+2007&rnum=1#8a7d5504ee848c21 that if you have a spilt db using SQL server rather than jet, the front-end's can connect to the backend SQL server over the internet. Has anyone had experience with this? We are thinking of migrating an commercially sold Access97 runtime app to...

Hey Guyz.... Have recently had to change Phone companies (old one stopped trading) in the UK and was given an advanced date (1st February) and two weeks warning. The old company had a small Box between the Phone line and my system (to detect calls) and to be safe I remove this early on the 31st January (before I reverted back to my old Phone company) to make sure everything worked okay....it did. On the stroke of Midnight I checked my system...

The problem is with the Internet speed in our house. we have a 10 Mbps connection which is used by around 10 people. When anyone used to download stuff using torrents the internet speed used to crash for everyone so we decided to give static IP to everyone's computer. It was working fine but one guy did some settings to his computer like he never has problem with Internet speeds ever. like past six months everyone else is having problems...

I am starting to study internet synchronization, and my head is still spinning since internet is not my forte, however my boss is breathing down my neck at the moment. Our company has only one server with fixed IP address provided by our ISP, while the other sites (which I wish in the future hold the replicas databases) have only standard internet connections with Dynamic IP (which means that they change IP addresses, as given by the ISP...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
