Hi, I have upgraded from Tomcat4.0.4 to Tomcat4.1.29 by installing a
binary, not an RPM. It looks OK but it won't start at boot time.
There are no scripts in /etc/rc.d/init.d/ or /etc/init.d/ All I have
is catalina.sh and startup.sh in $TOMCAT_HOME/bin. There is no
tomcat.conf file for this version either. Should I create my own shell
script? What should be in it? Should it just call catalina.sh or
startup.sh? Where should I put this...

I have developed an Access application and am attempting to add a
button to one form that will run our Work Order system. The Work
Order system is normally started from an icon on the desktop.
The Shortcut has the following values
Target: C:\oracle6i\BIN\ifrun60.EXE C:\MP5i\bin\r5logon.fmx
Start in: C:\MP5i\bin
Shortcut Key: None
Run: Normal Window

I've written a Windows Service using C#, but I cannot seem to figure out how
to cancel or prevent the service from starting under certain conditions.
For example, in the OnStart I read in some configuration settings, and if
anything is either empty, or invalid (such as a DB DataSource string or a
missing diredtory, etccc) I don't want the servie to start. So how would I
cancel the start up?

Being a newbie on C# managed services, I've probably done something horribly
wrong here...
The intent is to create a windows service that runs under the SYSTEM
account. I have created a service according to available examples in MSDN,
and I have used the Installutil.exe to install the service on my PC.
The OnStart method is still completely empty, I'd like to get the base
running before I start to build the solution.

tried to turn on my laptop, haven't used in awhile and I now have a blank
screen...It's like my windows XP Home is gone...can get into BIOS and set to
boot from cd rom...but it says boot from CD press any key I do that says
checkin hardware config .....and then nothing happens...I have floppy disk
but floppy on my computer doesn't work...what should I do....or what can I
do...Pls help ....why would my operating sys just be gone any...

I keep getting a Windows Repair error report that pops up when I try to access any of my forms in one of my databases. In efforts to troubleshoot the problem I copied these forms into another database and was luckily able to access and even edit them. I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
