Both youtube and Limewire won't work for me anymore and I don't know why. I downloaded both recent Java and Flash downloads. What can the problem be?

Hello everyone,

I've had the same problem that just appeared tonight. After upgrading to adobe flashplayer 9, downloading and using the flashplayer 9 debugger, doing a system restore back to a week ago, messing with my firewall and security settings (and returning them back to what they were because that didn't make a difference), and deleting cookies and clearing my internet history, I still had no luck.

Then I deleted the files in "temporary internet files", including all offline content, and that fixed the issue.
Back to normal!

How I did it in case you don't know how, just follow this path:

control panel>internet options>tempora ry internet files>delete files (and all offline content....I don't know if checking this box made a difference, but I checked it)

I hope this helps someone!!

You are a star! This finally worked for me.

Had no YouTube working for about a month now, and finally it's running!

I'd tried EVERYTHING mentioned above, all of which didn't work for me, unyet this simple route did! Crazy considering I run a programme called 'CCleaner' that is specifically aimed at clearing up internet files..LOL

So I can now enjoy YouTube! thanks again.

Paddy.

P.S YouTube is now running on IE , but not Firefox..ahh well not a massive issue!

Well, nothing has worked for me, of course. I do NOT have Norton Security, I redownloaded flash player, I checked up on my javascript, I got the debugger, I removed my firewall and ad/pop-up blockers (did nothing, so I put all of that right back on), deleted my cookies, tried the temporary internet files lift thing, and I'm pretty sure I tried some other things too, none of which works.

That goes without saying that the ctrl+F5 didn't working, either. Such a wonderfully simple solution. Of course that wouldn't work for me. Gah.

Anyway, the debugger did, in a sense, work. That definitely helped me the most, because now I'm at least able to watch youtube vids with my IE. There's always that. So, yay!

Unfortunately, I don't like IE. I use Mozilla. And Mozilla is what I want to keep using. PLEEEEEEEEASE! Somebody! Help! I'll try more later, but right now, after hours, I'm exhausted. I'm going to bed!

Youtube was fine until 2 months ago. I tried the control refresh and control f5. Worked twice. I tried everything mentioned in this forum. Nothing works. One odd thing. I can still view the videos I had saved to a playlist at youtube by turning off Norton. Also, I can play a youtube video embedded on another web site. I have installed, reinstalled flash several times. Installed and tried Firefox. Enabled, disabled, enabled Javascript. The list goes on and it's a wonder my computer hasn't crashed from my frustration. Youtube is becoming less attractive but still a challenge. I have Windows XP. I'm sure some brilliant person will come up with an answer and save us!

Well, something fabulous has happened. It was a few days ago that I had gone through my major attempts at getting youtube to play on my Mozilla browser (all of which only succeded in allowing me to play videos as long as I watched on IE), and then suddenly tonight, I was like, "hey, lets just check it out. Maybe something magically has happened."

I went to the site, on my Mozilla browser, not even the tiniest bit optimistic that a change had occured. I felt a little silly just for checking.

But, magically, it worked! YAY! I did nothing, so I'm ASSUMING YouTube has done something. I don't know, but whatever happned, worked. Yay.

All,
Hello, I am a first time poster.
I have had problems running YouTube for the last couple of weeks. I tried pretty much everything that has been mentioned in this thread. It wasn't until I read that clearing the temporary internet files may help that I had magic happen. After fighting with javascript, firewalls, anti-virus and everything else you could think of, all it took was clearing the temporary files. I am now back up and running. Wow, I didn't realize I was so addicted to YouTube!

Thanks for the help!!!

Here's the problem I've had: when I click on ANY Youtube video, the video will say "We're sorry, this video is no longer available." OR, SOME videos will have the loading symbol in the middle that won't stop loading. OR, SOME videos that are only a few seconds long (say, 10-30) will play just fine.

This is the exact same porblem i have! its been hapening for atleast a few months now. Ive done everything i could, and nothing works. but strangly enough, i thing i might have figured out something important. I have a cable/dsl ISP, and use a wireless router (D-Link something other) and tried on my laptop (vista) and my parents PC (XP) and neither work. Until, I went on the Internet Channel on my Wii, and voila! it works for every video! So, my conclusion is, either something is screwed up with the flash player or youtube, or some of our routers or ISP's arent working/incompatible with some beta program (possibly youtube, they launched a beta player not too long ago). either way, it will probably work on any game console if you try.

I'm having the same trouble, I have up to date versions of Java and Flash, and Javascript is turned on. It used to work at one point and suddenly it doesn't. But I've tried all I can think of and still YouTube will not work in IE. Going to install Firefox now and see if it will play there.
i have done all this aswell, it seems it might just be youtubes problem. i have even rebooted my computer and reinstalled everything and it still doesn't work.

I have a VB.NET program called "Calendar" that has a menu on the top that opens up another form (like a pop-up box) on top of "Calendar". The pop-up box form is called "Memos" which is a stand-alone (doesn't communicate with first form) database form with 3 drop-down boxes, a "Close" box and a rtb. I had this working (see "Saving RTB content to SQL Server" in the microsoft.public.vb.database forum) and then a user started to complain...

Hi guys, I have run into a problem and I can't figure out what's happening or why this script won't work. I am a self-taught scripter and only know what I use really. Any help would be appreciated. OK, here's the problem: I have a total of 5 dollar fields that will be calculated into a 6th dollar field. An example of what I need is like -------- field1 + field2 + field3 + field4 * field5. The answer to all of that gets put into the 6th...

I'm writing a server-side web application framework using Mozilla's Rhino JavaScript engine. My two primary motivations are so I can write code on server and client sides without needing to switch gears mentally and so that the server and client can share code. The types of code sharing I know I can use immediately are form validations and html previews. For form validation, I'll be able to specify the regexp for what is an email address...

Thanks for reading my first post. This is a major problem. We took our computer to get a new hard drive and everything was still intact on the new one. The only thing was that I went to Youtube and the videos weren't playing. Then, MSN and other sites had no advertisements, when they usually do. Finally, I tried to download an Adobe update, and it failed to do so. I'm running Windows XP and Internet Explorer. What do I do! Help me!

I have a form that takes several seconds to run the javascript needed to prepare the form for PHP (selecting all items in a Select Multiple). Since it takes so long, I want to disable the Submit button and Change the text to "Please Wait..." I have the code done, and it sorta works. FireFox3 does not seem to update the page until all JavaScript is done executing, so after the few seconds of nothing happening, then the button is disabled and...

I've been banging my head against an interaction between a table and float element. I want the two of them to together take up 100% of the width of their container. If the table cells' content were to wrap around the float, even better, but that's not necessary. However, I'm continuously running into two issues: 1.) If I make my table 100%, it writes over the float: right for tables where the content text is long enough. 2.) If I...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
