I want to set a textbox's ReadOnly value to the OPPOSITE value that the
CheckBox has. For example: If the user checks the CheckBox then the
ReadOnly property for the TextBox is set to False. The default value of
the TextBox is set to false. Am I on the right path or am I totally
off in left field?
<input type="checkbox" name="chkCode1" value="ON"
onclick="document.DisplayCodes.txtGrossPayroll1.readOnly !=...

if you have a ready only properly like string.Length and I do
--(string.Length) I get a compiler problem saying that I can't modify the
value of the readonly property.
From my understanding, the -- operator should be decrementing the value
return by (string.Lenght) and not string.Lenght directly.
Am I right or just completely wrong on this and should get more sleep.
If I'm wrong can you give details.

Just a silly question, but why can't you overload a writeonly property with
a readonly one? Surely the compiler can tell the difference of which one to
call at compile time, depending on if it is an assignment or a get?
I know there isn't much point to this anyway, but until Properties with
different scope for Get and Set methods are brought back (as asked by George
in a previous post about "properties with different scope", it would have...

Hi There,
I am trying to use the to obtain the information from 2 listmenus, if the
user makes a selection the page is submitted and then based on the value
selected is transfererd to another page. This works ok on it's own but I
can't seem to access the actual value of the control or the option value
( <option value="6">...NT...</option>)
..
Any ideas ppl?

With a Class is there any difference between a readonly property and
function besides having to use Get/End Get.
Are there any performance/resource advantages for either.
Thanks
Fred

I need to set a variable returned by a readonly property in a class by
another class. So the only way to set that value is from a specific
class and function.
Public Sub Main
Dim setter As New GoingToSetYou
Dim item As New ToBeSet
setter.NewItem(item)
Dim sValue As String = item.Value

Is it possible to set DataGrid's ReadOnly property to True/False at runtime?
An example:
<asp:datagrid id="dg1" runat="server" AutoGenerateColumns="False">
<Columns>
<asp:BoundColumn DataField="id" ReadOnly="True"
HeaderText="ID"></asp:BoundColumn>
</Columns>
<asp:datagrid>

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
