Like the title says, my installation of VC# 2005 Beta 2 doesn't seem to have
a Setup kind of project available. Actually, except for the Screensaver
Starter Kit, it has only four types: Windows app., Console app., Library and
Empty project. I have the .Net Framework SDK 2.0 installed (of course, also
the Framework) but no use.
I was used to this handy kind of project since VS 2003 but now I have to
resort to 3rd party software to deploy...

I recently learned how to do an <OBJECT> alternative to <IFRAME> in current
browsers using:
<object id="extendedhtml" type="text/html" data="otherpage.html" width="250"
height="400"></object>
My question is how do I access the document DOM of this object in
Javascript? For example, "alert(extendedhtml.innerHTML);" doesn't work and
produces an unknown error. I'd like to both read and write to the document's
body element's innerHTML...

Hello,
I don't know the correct term for it (tooltip?), but it's the nice feature
that, when you are writing source code, pops up a little explanation of the
syntax of the particular class/function you are typing so you can choose
from a list of overloads, etc. Anyway, for some reason it no longer works
on my system. Is there some VS2003 setting/preference/option that might
have gotten changed that turned it off?
Thanks,

Hi all,
I've been teaching myself C# for a new project at work. I have a bit of
a background in c++ and java but never been what you could call a guru.
I'm having some strange things happening when I pass a class as a
parameter to a Windows Form. Basically, I have a class that has several
fields, two of these fields are an instance of an inner class, the rest
are basic value types (bool's in this case). I have a windows form, the...

Hi All,
I wrote a VB.NET control in Visual Studio 2003 IDE, I am trying to
re-compile it with command line compiler vbc.exe like this:
vbc /t:library /out:my_control.dll my_control.vb
However vbc doesn't work with error "type 'Int32' is not defined"
Your help would be greatly appreciated!

We have several Web projects where we suddenly began experiencing various
problems after porting them to .NET 2.0. I debugged one of them and here's
what I've found:
In one of referenced assemblies there was a class with static members of
other class:
class A

Hello,
I'm a developer coming from C++ and Java ... I've going thru
"Effective C#" (which highly recommend for people coming from other
languages wanting to learn C#), and it states that "value types" are
always created on the stack, but then showed the "creation" of one w/
operator new. I guess it makes sense, but is it true that:

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.

Adolph will...
