opening and saving excel files online

4 New Member
Hello,

I have just completed a survey in excel which I've uploaded to my website.

The propblem is I would like the excel file to open directly online without asking for paswords and save the information onto my server, Instead of the user downloading the file onto their computer then resending me the file.

Is there any VB script I can use? Can you help

Many thanks

Hi, I have found many tutorials showing how to access data in an Excel spreadsheet using a COM object in .net. But, as far as I can tell, this requires Excel to be installed. Is there anyway I can access the Excel file without the user needing Excel? Thanks, Chris Riddle

No, I don't want to destroy them (funny how the word 'decimate' has changed definition over the years) :). We have a data acquisition program that saves its output to Excel's ..xls format. Unfortunately, the programmer was too stupid to write files the average user can read. I'd like some advice on how to go about: 1. Reading a large Excel file and chop it into many Excel files (with only 65535 lines per file)

some time ago i wrote an asp.net application which generated excel files using Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel. It is working but it takes a lot of time to generate the excel file. Yeasterday i modyfied it and i am generating them like HTML files and then send them to the user like: Response.ContentType = "application/vnd.ms-excel"; Response.AddHeader( "Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=result.xls" ); and i must say that it is...

I've seen a few posts on other sites discussing how to save an excel file, word file, or other office doc as a pdf document. In general, seems the solutions have been pretty complicated or involved trying unsuccessfully to use the undocumented AdobePDFMakerForOffice class. One quick fix that could save time for others, and is not too difficult, is to use the Execute() method of the Excel.Application.CommandBars class. It's definitely a...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
