I want to use sessions to cover myself in case the user switches off cookies
so I am passing the session ID manually through a hidden input field. This
is what I have so far.
index.php page contains:
<?php
$_SESSION = "";
$_SESSION = "";

Hmmm, didn't seem to work. I have set session.use_cookies = 1 and
session.use_trans_sid = 1 in my php.ini file. Index.php contains:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
<?php
ini_set("session.use_cookies", "off");
ini_set("session.use_trans_sid", "on");
session_start();
$_SESSION = "";
$_SESSION = "";
echo "<form method='POST' action='login.php'>

HI,
I am working on a project where I need to input data to a (local) HTML page
using multiple form elements, such as text, radio, checkbox, and dropdown.
When the form Submit button is clicked, I then need the input data either
written to another location on the same page, or written to another page (a
different frame would be fine)

Greetings
I'm opening a pop up window with a html form, (in one document) and I want to pass a variable to the html form called from the hyperlink.
Here's the code I'm using to pop up the window and call the form. In this particular instance, a city name is what I have to pass to the form Chapter.htm.

Hello,
I have written before that I can pass a variable from page 1 to page 2
if I call the variable "name".
Stephen Chalmers has written,
>'name' is effectively a reserved word as the variable window.name is
>created automatically, but is not read-only.
>Use more imaginative names for variables.

When completing certain types of transactions, the users of my app will need
to have the clients sign an authorization form. I want to add a button to
the page that allows them to print the auth form customized with the
client's name, etc... I was thinking of using MS Word and automating it
with client side VBScript. I want to store the template on the server so it
can be updated centrally. I don't need to save the doc anywhere, just...

Hello,
I was wondering if there are a few good pages and/or examples on how to
process form data correctly for putting it in a MySQL DB.
Since I'm not used to using PHP a lot, I already found out that
addslashes() can be used escape some characters, but I'm having some
more problems with for instance ä, å and µ (since the text is scientifical)
Now some people also throw in htmlspecialchars() to convert those to
HTML entities, but some...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
