I just installed VStudio.Net and although the ASP.Net
controls are fine in design view, they do not display on
the web page. Obviously something did not get
installed/configured correctly, but I have no idea what.

I've just started playing around with VS.NET and am working thru a book. I
down loaded all the code from the book. I created a virtual folder and
pointed to chapter 1 which has a simple aspx page with a heading and a few
asp controls below it. When I bring this page up in IE, I see only the
heading, the controls below are not there. I viewed the source of the page
and copied it below. Does this mean IIS is not installed correctly? Or what?...

Was wondering if anybody could point me in the right direction.

2005 in C#. The user control is to be used on a web page to replace an
existing Java applet. One of the main reasons for switching from Java to
the Windows User Control is to reduce the amount of the time spent maintain

1. how do i get vs.net to recognize the controls (such that intelisense
does it's magic when i type "<ie")?

I have build a web form using asp.net validation controls to make sure the
users fill in the required fields and enter a valid email address for one of
the fields.
This works when I test it on the development server, but when I upload the
files to the production server, the validation controls don't do anything.
The production server has the .net framework, but not visual studio installed
Any ideas ? Thanks,

In my development environment, the validation controls work fine.
(Incidentally, i am using almost all of them). However, when i deploy my
ASP.NET application to the live production environment, using VS .NET's "Copy
Project" feature, which copys only the files necessary to run on another
machine, the validation controls simply disappear.
For example, when i click SUBMIT to submit a form that's empty, the
validation controls don't do...

try to add a reference to it I don't see it in the list. I see a
System.Windows.Forms, but not a System.Windows.Controls.

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
