ASP.Net controls don't display

I just installed VStudio.Net and although the ASP.Net
controls are fine in design view, they do not display on
the web page. Obviously something did not get
installed/configured correctly, but I have no idea what.
Thx.

Hello Mr.Scott Anderson,
I have got the same problem when I installed Vstudio.Net
in my system. Solution for this problem is re-install
Vstudio.Net again after removing your old installed
version. At installation you just check all options
carefully that is asked after CD-Key entered (components
list contained in Vstudio.Net). After successfully
installed, you will get a folder in your systems
IIS/defaultwebsites/aspnet_client.. If you get this folder
then your problem will be solved. Just check all options
asking to install Vstudio.Net components when you go for
installation.

With regards,
Venkat.

Hi, I want to display a Label in a DataGrid according to some condition. I therefore check whether the condition is true in the ItemDateBound EventHandler of the DataGrid. Unfortunately the conversion is extremely costly in performance. Does anybody know how I could set the label (of the whole content of the TableCell) to .Visible = False without converting e.Item.Controls(2) to a System.Web.UI.WebControls.Label?

I don't know what the problem is. I have a form with several controls that need to be validated, I put a validation group in every form control, every validatoino control, the submit button and the validation summary control. I want it to do client side validation so I set every validation control display property to none and set the validation summary control to ShowMessage to true and ShowSummary to false. Als form controls set...

Has anyone seen this happen? I have pages with <asp:Textbox> and <asp:DropDownList> controls on them. Some of them display differently. Some are recessed with the left & top borders being gray (to look 3D). Some look flat w/ a light blue border all the way around. The dropdown lists all have light blue borders and look flat. ALL controls on the pages are coded to the default values. There are no commands to determine the border style...

I'm looking for some design guidance on a collection of projects I'm working on. The project involves a bunch of websites constructed out of a collection of user controls. Different user populations with different access rights and "roles" will be visiting the site. I will be using ASP.NET 2.0's membership, roles, and profiles stuff to manage access. User controls need to be visible or not visible depending on user role. In some...

hi all, I have this seemingly simple problem. I have lost a lot of time on it though. When a user selects a value from a dropdownlist (static control) a dynamic control is generated. I have to create the dynamic controls in the OnInit stage of the lifecycle. Since data from static controls is not yet available in the OnInit stage I can't know what dynamic control I have to create.

I've got a problem with the way that some dialogs, er ah, I mean forms, position their controls. On most machines, but not on my client's laptop, all of the forms and their controls display in the expected fashion but on my client's laptop, there are a couple of forms whose controls are placed as though the height of the dialog was measured in smaller units than those used to place its child controls. For example, one of the problem dialogs...

I come from a classic asp background, but have started using ASP.NET about 12 months ago, but I'm still not sure about the pros and cons of using controls v HTML spat out from code as you would in classic asp. I have also been using System.Web.UI.ICallbackEventHandler to send data to the server and back without using controls. What I want to know is the pros and cons of each. To me you never have quite the freedom using a control as you...

I've been living with a frustrating issue with VS.NET for some months now and I need to figure out what the problem is. Hopefully someone has run into the same issue and can suggest a fix. I suspect some permissions problem. I'm running VS.NET 2008 in Vista. Symptoms and observations: * ASP.NET's native ImageMap and Image controls work just fine and provide a design-time preview of images that are referenced via the ImageUrl property *...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
