Hi,
I have a VB6 ActiveX DLL that we use for printing. It iterates through
the printers collection to set the printer to the one the user
requested. This is called from ASP (VB Script) pages, and from a VB
Web Class application. The problem is, sometimes the printers
collection is empty, so it fails to print.
The COM+ package is configured to run as a known user. This user has
printers configured. If we logon to the Web Server as the...

it.
list on left is all printers and list on right shows the ones
currently compatible with the consumable chosen in the combo at the

I am getting strange print-related error messages when trying to
create (not print!) reports. For example, when I click 'new' to create
a report then choose 'design view', I get an error message that says:
'There was a problem retrieving printer information for this object.
The object may have been sent to a printer that was unavailable.'
When I choose 'report wizard', I can go through all of the steps but
then I get an error message...

however, I am able to see the correct number of printers:

Hi,
I'm writing an app to run on a server, hopefully autmated, and every 5
minutes it needs to hit a database and if any new records have been
entered, print the record to a printer depending on certain criteria.
I'm not sure if I'll handle timing through the app or through Windows
Scheduler... but that's outside my question here.
All our printers are Jetdirect compliant printers and on our network
as \\printserver\printername or I...

Hi Al,
Based on my understanding, you have an application which prints something
to printers. The problem is that the font of "OCR A Extended" cannot be
printed properly on some of printers. If I'm off base, please feel free to
let me know.
I performed a test printing the font of "OCR A Extended" to a printer in my
office but didn't reproduce the problem on my side. The font was printed
properly in my test. The model of the printer I...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
