Method not found: GetNamedPermiss ionSet() error on installing .net3.5

Hi,

After upgrading to .net 3.5, my web app is giving the error on
all .aspx pages:

" Method not found: 'System.Securit y.NamedPermissi onSet
System.Web.Http Runtime.GetName dPermissionSet( )' "

....on an app which worked just fine before.

This is on XP SP2, IIS 5.1. Have tried aspnet_regiis -i, reinstalling
IIS, and reinstalling the .net framework.

Stack trace and event log entry below.

At a loss what to do next - don't want to reinstall everything as this
is my development workstation. Any further suggestions welcome.

Cheers,
A.

I have a script used to find and run Java on a Windows system.  It worked fine on original tests (on a Windows XP system).  It's now running on a Windows 2000 (sp3) system, and it won't work -- the problem is this line: set oCommand = WshShl.Exec(sCommand) (it's about halfway down)  Is there a problem with the Exec method in some versions of VBS?  Is the problem Windows version I'm on, or is it something more obvious that I'm just not...

Ok folks, I have Windows XP. I installed .Net and developed some VB.Net components that I want to use in ASP.Net applications. At this point I realized I didn't have IIS installed on my XP machine, so I installed it. I then created a ASP.Net web project pointing to "localhost". I was able to run the application and get to the test.aspx page in the browser. However, it would not let me debug the application. It kept throwing an...

If I have a class with a virtual method, and a child class that overrides the virtual method, and then I create an instance of the child class AS A base class... BaseClass bc = new ChildClass(); .... and then call the virtual method, why is it that the base class's method is called instead of the overridden method? How do I fix this if I don't know at runtime what the child class is? I'm using Activator.CreateInstance() to load the...

Hi all, I'm trying to deploy an ASP.NET (1.1) app to our production webserver, but having problems with the DAAB (from Ent Lib June 2005). As you might guess, it works just fine and dandy on my dev PC (VS2003). The error I'm getting on the production server is: The type initializer for "Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Data.Instrumentation.DataConnectionFailedEvent" threw an exception

sorry for ma bad english sorry for maybe a little boring question but I want to ask if it is possible writing a .net3.0 programs in vs2005. The company I am working in want to migrate project from vs2003 and .net1.0 to vs2005 and .net2.0 framework but all things are not clear for me and I have question - it is not better to migrate to .net3.0 (we have only licenses on vs2005, nothing new)

I have repeatedly tried to install Net2. I keep getting the following error message. I've looked through the Knowledgebase but can find nothing. It seems to be related to a Visual Basic problem, but I was unaware that I had VB on my system! Maybe I do and it needs repair. If so how do I do that? Here's the error message. Error 25015. Failed to install assembly "C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Microsoft.VisualBasic.Vsa.dll"...

I am using Reflection to invoke methods dynamically. I have got a special requirement where I need to pass a value to method by setting the custom method attribute. As I cannot change the signature of method to pass a new parameter, I am setting the custom attribute of a given method and then accessing the attribute from method. Since attribute value is decided at runtime I want to change the attribute of particular method at runtime....

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
