Excel VBA Userforms - enable/disable command button

1 New Member
Hi

I'm trying to learn VBA in Excel mysel. Getting stuck on userforms.

I can create a userform with optionbuttons and command buttons.

I want to know how to have the form display the command button as inactive until an optionbutton is ticked and then becomes active?

Most likely by setting the .Enabled property of the command button (if it's similar enough to VB6).

Hi. I have two questions ... (1) I want to use a Listbox to enable the user to select 1 or many items from the list. However, I'm having trouble figuring out how to find out t which items have been selected. How can I do that? Given the listindex, .selected, .itemsselected, .itemdata properties -- I'm getting confused. (2) I, actually, have two listboxes on the form and I want to ONLY let the user select items in one list. The...

Hi everybody, But what I am trying to do is like, there are 2 forms, and if I click on the button in form1, it'll open up form2 and disable the button in form1. Then when I click on the button in form2, it will close form2, and then enable the button in form1. Could you please give me some hints about this? Thanks, Suni

Do you know about UserForms in Access? UserForms seems to me to be just like VB Forms, or Excel UserForms. They are not Access objects and have little or nothing to do with Access forms. In the Project Explorer that appear in a Forms folder, far removed from Microsoft Access Class Objects. They have a very full set of editable properties, code modules, controls etc. They can be created in Access 2003.

I have a code for enabling a command button to password protect the enabling/disabling of the Shift bypass. For some reason though I keep recieving a syntax error when I try to use it. I copied the code from the following link: http://www.databasedev.co.uk/disable_shift_bypass.html It seems to have a problem with the part that reads: MsgBox "The Bypass Key has been enabled." & vbCrLf & vbLf & _ "The Shift key will allow the users to bypass...

I am using a selection_change event on a worksheet to launch a userform that will populate the cell when a selection is made from a drop down list box on the form. Selection_change shows form if cell to the left of the active cell meets a certain condition and the active cell is in column 8. Problem: when conditions warrant, selection_change shows userform. when executed Excel locks. VBA editor indicates code is running but form can not be...

I am somewhat familar with access, but have no clue to modules and coding. I am trying to develop code or a module that will enable a user to import a specific excel spreadsheet and its' data into a table by pressing a command button. I am able to import excel, however it will not attach to existing spreadsheet. I find myself, having to build an append query for each import which is time consuming and inefficient. I have already checked, my...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
