Opening Multiple Files Simultaneously for an Image Gallery

2 New Member
First of all... Hi

I am attempting to create a html 'gallery creater' for a program...
everythink was going ok, seems to work.
the only trouble is i cannot find any way of allowing the user to add multiple files at the same time.

for example in windows, you can select multiple programs to exicute at the same time. i am looking to do something similar, in that the user selects the files in the classic windows 'open...' window. from there i need the program to identify the selected file names and addresses to allow the program to work with them.

Programs i am using: Opus (interface only); Access 97 (database and using vb scripting within it

I apretiate any suggestions,

Mike

Heya, Mike. Welcome to TSDN!

So you want the User to be able to open multiple image files at a time from your application. Is this correct?

I'm going to move this thread to the VB forum so that you can get more relevant exposure.

Cheers and cheers...

Do define my problem a little better, what i am faced with is this:
I need the user to select multiple folders or a directory...
Then i need the program to add selected file names and their address into the access database

it sounds simple enough... my problem is that i can only program in vb through access 97 and i have no idea where to start the program...

i can manage to allow the user to select a single file to add, but it is a very slow process for the user... i am hoping to find a quicker method

Cheers for your suggestions

Does anybody know a php-based image gallery, where final looks of the actual site would not be determined by the application? I mean that there would only be a php-library of objects/functions that could be used to incorporate folders and images to any kind of website with personal appearance. (Of course administration application should be ready made. I'm not talking about "send your favorite pics"-community, but image gallery as a part...

I'd like to have a CSS file for everything that's common to my site, and other CSS files that are specific to certain pages or groups of pages. When a page loads, it would load in BOTH the General CSS and the specific CSS file for that page. As long as none of the selector names were the same on both, could the page follow the styles set out in both files? Greg Guarino

I have attempted to use the CSS techniques from two or three sites to create a CSS only image gallery. I am muddling the affair by placing the thumbnails in one float, the page text in another float, then using absolute positioning (and z-index) to display the image over the second float. The CSS for the thumbnails is from "Web Accessibility At C-net.us" by K Chayka (http://accessat.c-net.us/test/gallery2.html). The CSS to display the...

My goal is to create essentially two galleries on a single page, in which the first gallery determines what the second gallery displays. For instance, the first gallery refers to the contents of the main image folder. The second gallery would be a folder inside the main image folder. Depending on which image is displayed, the first gallery's image would trigger the second gallery's contents. I suppose this is sort of a hierarchal gallery...

I'm trying to build an image gallery in Flash that extracts data from two external XML files using Actionscript. Currently I have one fully functional gallery that I'm satisfied with and would basically like to duplicate it in design, but use another XML file for the images, and have both galleries in the same scene. The tricky part is that I would like the second XML to essentially react to the first XML. For instance, if an image is...

Hi, I am currently working on an XML Gallery for my girlfriend's brother who is a photographer. I have created a flash front end template and am using an XML database to load the images and accompanying captions. The gallery has more than one image and the user can navigate the gallery by clicking forward and backward buttons to take then through the images: var galleryXML = new XML(); galleryXML.ignoreWhite = true;...

Hello everyone. If anyone can give me a hand I would be gratefull Am doing a site which requires a moving element and have used DHTML to do it. Have a simple Browser detect script to sort IE from Netscape. IE is ok but the Netscape browser including Firefox and Safari are not working now. Not sure why. The idea is that when you mouseover the arrows the gallery div moves to left and right. I have changed the script and now the image...

I've been working with this PHP page for several days now and I'm stumped. The page is supposed to allow the user to upload up to six images for their profile. When the user adds an image it (the page coding) does verify file size, if correct it places it on the server in the users folder and with the correct names and extension, creates the thumbnail and adds the correlating file name. However, it only adds the first file name to the database....

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
