vb6 to .Net wizard conversion problem

1 New Member
Hi,
after the Visual Studio 2005 vb6 to vb.Net conversion wizard end execution, the projet does not load properly in the solution. The

error is file not found. But when I look in the directory it is realy there. If I then try to load it manualy Visual Studio restarts the

conversion wizard and then it gives up. But when I open the .vbproj with texpad I find a missing name:
<Reference
Name = ""
Guid = "{EF53050B-882E-4776-B643-EDA472E8E3F2}"
Lcid = "0"
VersionMajor = "2"
VersionMinor = "7"
WrapperTool = "primary"
/>

When I remove this section it loads in Visual Studio(The good news). But, something must be missing because all the partial

classes are in error and I can not see any control on the forms.

The question is what is missing? And, maybe, why?

Thanks for any help!

I've been trying to use the Access Import Wizard to expedite importing data into my mdb. The nice thing about the wizard is that I can import from different file formats - txt, xls, even Outlook - and dump everything into a table. The problem is once I have the data imported into a new table, I can't do much with it. If I try to run an Append query and insert data from the new table into an existing table, the query fails - "Error...

When i open a VB6 project in .NET, it pops up a conversion wizard, which converts the VB6 code to VB.NET code. The VB6 code has statments 'On Error Goto ...' and on completing the conversion,the resulting .NET code has these statements retained. Is there any option to the wizard to convert these type of statements, or do these have to be done manually ? Thanks in advance.

Where is the .NET conversion Wizard. I'm told when trying to open a Vb6 app that the Wizard isn't installed but can't find it on the installation CDs. I would like to see what kind of a job it does on some old apps.

Hi I've got a project I've just run through the conversion wizard, and it's giving me a few headaches. I've got a user control which has controls referrenced from its calling page (usercontrol1.textbox1.text etc). All worked fine in V2003, but 2005 is giving me a "usercontro1.textbox1 is inaccessible due to it's protection level" error. Obviously, with it now

I've made several attempts to upgrade an application from asp.net 1.1 to 2.0. I open the web site by selecting the vbproj file, by selecting the solution file, or by selecting the web application. VS 2005 opens the conversion wizard, backs up the files, makes a brief show of shuffling bits around, and announces that the conversion is complete. If it produces a conversion report, the report either says that one file was converted (the vbproj...

Hi I created an Outlook 2003 Add In project in vs 2008. VS 2008 automatically creates an associated Setup project in the same solution. When I close the solution and open again, the Conversion Wizard comes up and attempts to convert the project to vs 2008 even though the project was created in vs 2008 to start with. What is the problem and how can I fix it? Thanks

Hi An outlook 2003 add-in solution created in vs 2008 on a pc with outlook 2007 when re-opened in vs 2008 brings up the conversion wizard. Cancelling wizard closes solution and does not allow to proceed. The development machine has Office 2007 installed but as production machines have Outlook 2003 therefore Outlook 2003 project template is selected for this solution. How can I avoid the conversion of the project?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
