VB6 Conversion Wizard

Where is the .NET conversion Wizard. I'm told when trying to open a Vb6 app
that the Wizard isn't installed but can't find it on the installation CDs. I
would like to see what kind of a job it does on some old apps.

If everything's setup correctly, just open the vbp in .Net. The wizard
should start by itself. If those old apps are very simple, you may have some
luck with the wizard. If those apps do anything real, prepare yourself for a
complete re-write.

Hi I've got a project I've just run through the conversion wizard, and it's giving me a few headaches. I've got a user control which has controls referrenced from its calling page (usercontrol1.textbox1.text etc). All worked fine in V2003, but 2005 is giving me a "usercontro1.textbox1 is inaccessible due to it's protection level" error. Obviously, with it now

I've made several attempts to upgrade an application from asp.net 1.1 to 2.0. I open the web site by selecting the vbproj file, by selecting the solution file, or by selecting the web application. VS 2005 opens the conversion wizard, backs up the files, makes a brief show of shuffling bits around, and announces that the conversion is complete. If it produces a conversion report, the report either says that one file was converted (the vbproj...

Hi An outlook 2003 add-in solution created in vs 2008 on a pc with outlook 2007 when re-opened in vs 2008 brings up the conversion wizard. Cancelling wizard closes solution and does not allow to proceed. The development machine has Office 2007 installed but as production machines have Outlook 2003 therefore Outlook 2003 project template is selected for this solution. How can I avoid the conversion of the project?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
