I've made several attempts to upgrade an application from asp.net 1.1 to 2.0.
I open the web site by selecting the vbproj file, by selecting the solution
file, or by selecting the web application. VS 2005 opens the conversion
wizard, backs up the files, makes a brief show of shuffling bits around, and
announces that the conversion is complete. If it produces a conversion
report, the report either says that one file was converted (the vbproj or sln
file) and none failed, or that one file was converted and 1300-some were not
converted, or most recently, that the vbproj file was converted, the
global.asax file was converted, and in summary that one file was converted
and one was not.
If the report offers any details on what happened to the rest of the site's
files, it says only that they were successfully backed up.
In the project's Error List window, I now get dozens of errors that assorted
items are not declared. In the solution explorer I see that the wizard didn't
create the app_code directory, so I'm not surprised VS is having trouble
finding things.
I upgraded a similar application a few weeks ago, so I know that vs2005 is
set up right and able to work.
After several tries I installed an update to the web project conversion
wizard, downloaded from microsoft.com. The conversion still doesn’t work.
I guess I can upgrade all of my files by hand, but it's not clear why the
upgrade wizard can't do it for me.
Any suggestions? 0 1298 This thread has been closed and replies have been disabled. Please start a new discussion. Similar topics |

I've been trying to use the Access Import Wizard to expedite importing data
into my mdb. The nice thing about the wizard is that I can import from
different file formats - txt, xls, even Outlook - and dump everything into a
table.
The problem is once I have the data imported into a new table, I can't do
much with it. If I try to run an Append query and insert data from the new
table into an existing table, the query fails - "Error...

Hi all,
I am trying to convert a VB 6 application to VB.NET 2005 using the wizard.
It has over 20 forms and I've used Option Explicit everywhere, hence
variables are properly declared and used. I also made sure that there was no
design time (ItemData) listings in the list. However, when I try to convert
to .NET, two things happen:
a) It gives me over 5500 errors!! (Many of them include 'could not resolve
type' inspite of explicit...

Hi All :-)
I'm new to this site. I've been trying to convert several .Net 2003 web applications and getting tons of conversion errors.
I found this site to help walk me through the conversion process: http://webproject.scottgu.com/VisualBasic/Migration2/Migration2.aspx
which is great, however, when I follow the steps in this tutorial exactly, I get 102 conversion errors! Almost all the errors have to do with ambiguous file names, but...

Hello,
We have an old VB6 project that has Designer Reports (.dsr) in the project.
We attempted to convert the project to VB.NET using Visual Sudio .Net 2003
upgrade wizard. The forms converted ok, but the .dsr report files did not
convert. The conversion wizard response is generic in stating that "the
report file did not successfully convert".
Any suggestions on how to convert these reports would be very helpful.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
