Need help with my Web Browser

Hi, I'm new with Visual Basic. I've started a Web Browser project in Visual Basic 2005 Express Edition, but being new I really need some help:
1) When the user presses a button, I want to execute an help file in the same directory as the browser, but before to check if the file exists. How can I do that? I also want to execute the Internet Properties form (C:\WINDOWS\sys tem32\inetcpl.c pl for WinXP)
2) Need some help with the progress bar. I can't make it show the progress.
I would really appreciate your help. Thanks in advance.
P.S. : Sorry for my bad english. :)

Greetings- I have a web application that has a form that triggers a server process that I would like to provide a "Searching..." page for. My strategy was to send the browser the "top half" of a web page, including an animated "Searching..." gif. I write the contents of this page to the HttpServletResponse output, and then flush the buffer (which I had thought would cause the bytes written thus-far to make their way to the client). I...

I've added a favicon to my site (http://lazyape.filetap.com/) which works fine if you add the site to favourites the normal way, but I have some JavaScript code on a couple of pages with a link, which when you click it bookmarks the site (much easier). The favicon is never saved if the site is bookmarked this way. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this?? This is the code: <script language="JavaScript">

In a page I have when the user left-clicks the page a Input box for a form gets the focus. But if the user right-clicks the page the Input box is not getting the focus. I'd like the Input box to get the focus no matter where on the page the user clicks be it right-click or left-click. Right now there is no context menu when the user right-clicks. Do you think that's the problem? Any ideas how to get this right-click left-click Input box...

I wrote an HTML based chat application. The front end is built entirely on HTML + javascript. Essentially, I have a hidden frame that's refreshed frequently and any new messages are displayed in another frame using document.write. My problem is that since chat screen can be obscured by other applications/windows, I have no way of informing users that new messages have arrived other than popping the window to the top using window.focus....

Hello all: I have a C# windows application that needs a custom calendar. I need this calendar displayed as a month view. I also need the ability to insert/manipulate images and text into each day cell. I will also need drag and drop functionality for each item in the day. I figure there is two ways to go about this; 1) create a user control for use in a windows form or 2) use a web page in a web browser control. Which method would...

I added the WebBrowser component to my toolbox, then placed one on a form with other .NET components. This much seems to have worked, but I do not understand how to control the sucker from within my application. Specifically, what sort of syntax is involved to get the various interfaces (IHTMLWindow, IHTMLDocument3, etc) in the internal objects and call functions in them? What has worked is this:

I am still working with no success on that client/server problem. I need your help. I will submit simplified versions of my problem so we can see clearly what is going on. My model: A client uses IE to talk with a server. The user on the client (IE) sees an ASP net page containing a TextBox. He can write some text in this text box and push a submit button.

Is there any way to run a function or a code-block whenever the client- server communication breaks off. (ie power-off, browser-crash...) Why I need this is, I want to update a login-table to trace user's leave the portal without proper log-off or sign-out. Every time a user at proper sign-in, a flag is set & account is locked until he sign-out by updating in the login-table.At sign-out the flag is released & his account is ready to...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
