I want to put the OMIM databse locally on my computer. I downloaded
the file genemap from ftp://ftp.ncbi.nih.gov/repository/OMIM/ It
contains a list of fields, separated by the '|' character. An example

Hi all
I'm new to mysql so easy!
I use PHPMyadmin as a front end to administering my databases
but my simple question is how do I, from the command line (winxp prompt)
drop a certain databse.
so once I log into mysql, using mysql -u root,
how would I go about deleting whole databases?

Hi, there is an existing application running on a SQL Server database.
Now I have to built a different app, which will have two common tables
with the existing database (Customers, sales)
Is there any benefit (performance mainly) creating the tables for the
new app in a new database? (On the same machine and the same instance)

I have a password secured database. After the password is entered the
user has a form that I created that allows them to search the database
and retrieve information.
The problem is that the connection string requires a the database
password even though the user entered it to open the database. How can
I get the password from the system to build the connection string?
Thanks for any help,
Whitey

Hi all,
I posted this question here before, but I'm still having a problem with this
code.
From my windows form, I opened a connection to a SQL database. I need to
generate a combo box in my form from a SELECT statement that selects the last
name column
from an SQL table. I wrote the following code to do that, but when I run
this code it doesn't do anything!! It doesn't even return an error message to
let me know what's going on!!
All I...

I have a couple new servers - Windows 2003 R2 - with SQL Server 2000
SP4 installed. They are all Active/Active clustered instances (my
first ones).
I am trying to create database links to other SQL Server instances, but
there are 3 that I cannot connect to.
The dblink works if I connect to the instance as "sa", but not as my
Windows Authenticated account. We use Active Directory and I am in the
Administrator group on all of the...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
