vb.net will not install - help - help

I had installed vb.net 2003 on my xp sp2 computer and it seemed to work ok.
At some point it began to create
executables that would not run. No errors, but start the program's exe and
nothing happens.

I decided to uninstall VB.net which eventually worked. Then I tried to
reinstall which locks up 2/3 through the GENERATING INSTALL SCRIPT progress
bar. Microsoft is no help on this. Does anyone have a clue as to what is
going on and how to fix?

Almost everybody in this newsgroup is using VB6 or lower. While you may
get a stray answer to VB.NET (including VB2003 and VB2005 which has
dropped .NET from its name) questions here, you should ask them in
newsgroups devoted exclusively to .NET programming. Look for newsgroups
with either the word "dotnet" or "vsnet" in their name.

For the microsoft news server, try these newsgroups for Visual Basic
..NET related questions...

microsoft.publi c.dotnet.langua ges.vb
microsoft.publi c.dotnet.langua ges.vb.upgrade
microsoft.publi c.dotnet.langua ges.vb.controls
microsoft.publi c.dotnet.langua ges.vb.data

And these for more general .NET questions

microsoft.publi c.dotnet.genera l
microsoft.publi c.vsnet.general

Note: There are many other .NET newgroups (use the first three "fields"
from the last two as templates when searching for them), but the above
ones should get you started.

I'm using VB.net standard that came with the book "Visual Basic .net step by step" MS Press version 2003. I found out I was missing the MSDN library from book. I contacted MS Press who send them. Once received -- In Visual Studio it said: To install Help 1. In Control Panel, choose Add/Remove Programs. 2. Select the appropriate product and then choose Change/Remove. 3. On the main setup screen, click Step 3. —or— Insert your MSDN CD and...

Hi Everybody, If I were to use Komodo to write in Python, would it add a lot of goo to my code such that I would not be able to switch to another IDE without having to claw my way out of a tarpit first? Any other thoughts on Komodo? I am considering it because I am hoping to find a solution to the install-packages-until-you-go-blind aspect of Python. Setting up a serious, cross-platform, gui development environment is quite a struggle...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
