Help Needed Basic Language Statements

I have done a lot of programming some time ago using Fortran and various
varieties of the Basic programming languages, Hewlett Packard Technical
Basic, QBasic, Quick Basic.

With each of these languages there were documents (books, etc) which
categorized and explained all of the functions, statements, etc. and how to
use them. The documents explained the logic of the statement or function
and provided examples.

Also most of the books categorized the statements/functions by use: such as
branching, conditional branching, mathematical functions, loops, etc.

My problem is that I can find no reference to the Basic Language
commands/statements/functions within Visual Basic. I have three books, two
of which are from Microsoft and one from QUE.

Perhaps one of you can direct me to a link, a book, or other reference to
the valid Basic Statements/Functions/Commands to write the programming code
between the lines of Visual Basic object code.

Hi, I have a problem with threads and sockets. I'll try to describe the problem in words with pseudo-code. I've been working on a few classes to make it easier to work with threads. This framework, let us call it that, consists in two parts. The first part is just a basic thread class deriving from threading.Thread with a few extra functionality that makes it easier for a thread to spawn a new thread and "father it". Each of its

Hi, I've been translating some API's from VB to C# for a couple of days now. Only I'm a real newbie to both languages, but I managed to do most of it except the next statements, so if anyone knows what the counterpart in C# is of those VB statements I would appreciate : Public Function (ok, public I know but what is a Function in C# ?) Public Enum

I have the following default.aspx page that works properly. However, what I want to do is to link the graphics within it (that are hard coded now in the default web page) to our corporate website, which has the same graphics rotated on a 30 day basis or so. They have a standard naming convention where I know the 3 graphics are always going to be fa_mmyy.jpg, am_mmyy.jpg, and ax_mmyy.jpg. The HTML follows:

Hi all, I have recently released version 0.0.20 and 0.0.21 of Shed Skin, an optimizing Python-to-C++ compiler. Shed Skin allows for translation of pure (unmodified), implicitly statically typed Python programs into optimized C++, and hence, highly optimized machine language. Besides many bug fixes and optimizations, these releases add the following changes: -support for 'bisect', 'collections.deque' and 'string.maketrans'

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
