Hello, I am using a data access page on a local secure server. As the user changes information, the data updates automatically in the database. But when the user goes to close the page, they get a warning that the data has not been saved (default IExplorer form message). How can I disable this? It scares users and they don't believe me that their changes have already been updated in the database. The exact warning a user gets is: "Are...

I have a main project that depends on projects A and B. The main project's additional include directories list is: ...\ProjectA\Dist\Include ...\ProjectB\Dist\Include Each of the include directories contain a file named "cppfile1.h". In my main project I #include "cppfile1.h". I rely on the order of paths in additional include directories list to get file cppfile1.h from ProjectA and

Hi all... New user new to VC++. I've used the AppWizard to create an SDI with the CFormclass. The "View" file is a dialog. I want to create a few EditBoxes, associate member variables to them, and write them to a file (and retrieve them later). The "Doc" file contains the "serialize" function that looks perfect

Hi there :) I don't know how else to call what I'm currently implementing: An object that behaves like a list but doesn't store it's own items but rather pulls them from a larger list (if they match a certain criterion). Changes to the filter are instantly reflected in the underlying list. Clear enough? Ok, so I figured that this is generic enough to be found in some standard module already (I've had this often enough: Painfully

Hi, Hopefully someone can help me here. I am recoding my web site. The original site was just in HTML but I am teaching myself CSS for the new site. My new site consists of three columns: a sidebar floated left, a sidebar floated right, and the 'main content' which has wide margins to accommodate the floated sidebars. I am working on the main content. I want to do something very simple: I have an image floated left, with some text to...

Hello, I need to write a systemtray program to check every minute if a certain intranet page exists. Would "webBrowser.Navigate" and catching exceptions to it be a good choice in terms of load on the PC? If the page exists, the program should load and display it. The program would run on a couple of thousand PCs and the idea is to have a very basic, one-to-many instant message.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
