"Are you sure you want to navigate..." and unsaved changes error

Hello,
I am using a data access page on a local secure server. As the user changes information, the data updates automatically in the database. But when the user goes to close the page, they get a warning that the data has not been saved (default IExplorer form message). How can I disable this? It scares users and they don't believe me that their changes have already been updated in the database.

The exact warning a user gets is: "Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page? Warning: You have modified data and not saved changes. ..."

I've looked at a bunch of webpages and tried a bunch of things but haven't gotten any javascript to work.

thanks for any advice!
katherine

Let's say I have a web forms button which performs a Delete or something. I'd like a click on the button to pop an "Are you Sure" dialog on the client side and then only execute the button's OnClick operation on the server side if the user had clicked Ok (as opposed to Cancel) on the pop-up dialog. I know I can do this all myself with JavaScript, but I was just wondering if any such functionality is already built-in in ASP.NET 2.0 so that...

I would like a particular business object to ask for validation when a property is set to a specific value. In this case, I have a TimeStart property and a TimeEnd property. When creating a new object, the default for these properties is Now. However, saving the data with both values set to now would be highly unusual, so I'd want the class to ask for verification. I think this rule should be maintained by the class and not the UI (a...

I have a page that has three submit buttons. Depending upon which one was clicked, I process it differently on the server in php. One of those buttons is a delete action so I would like to add an "Are you sure?" for that button. However, I don't want to do anything with the other buttons. I know how to do it if that were the only button ( onsubmit="return validateAction()" ).

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
