Visual Basic Compiler / IDE download (newb)

Basically I would like to downlod the visual basic 6.0 compiler, but i
already have the vb.net compiler. I had to pay for the VB.net IDE, just
wondering if I can get the vb 6.0 IDE for free or not. all comments are
appreciated. Thanks all.

nope... different product.

If your looking to learn VB6 the cheapest solution is to go to a
discount book store and find a VB6 book that comes with the learning
edition.

How about the compiler, is the compiler freely downloadable? Does it come
with the IDE that I have to pay for?

Also, I know in Java, C, and VB.Net it is possible and not that difficult to
write code without an IDE like JBuilder, JCreater, Turbo C++, or Visual
Studio.NET. However, of the little VB6 that I know, all I know how to do is
drag labels in the IDE onto certain pixels. I am not at all familiar with
this concept but am an actual code writer. For example, (in java) instead of
dragging a label, I would much rather type Label l = new Label("Test
Label");. Is it possible to write code in VB6 without the use of an IDE (in
a processor such as wordpad), or is it manditory that I have one?

-Sorry for all the newb ?s, Thanks again.

you can create window components (labels, text boxes) dynamically but I
really don't think you want to do this outside of the IDE. It likely
*is* possible but one would have to ask why??

Another cheap solution to obtain VB6 would be to look on EBay.

The good news: Along with Python-2.4 comes really good news to Windows users. Yes, you now CAN build extension modules yourself using the SAME C++ compiler and linker Python is built with itself. Everything you need is available at no costs (except download hassle and installation time). Once your system is set up properly its just a matter...

Download ebook http://books-download.com/?Book=1487-Visual+Basic+2005+Jumpstart Okay, all you VB6 developers--time's up. As of March 2005, Microsoft no longer supports this version of Visual Basic. Why do we have to contact MS for a problem that has been with this compiler from at least the beta of VS 20005. I am so sick and tired of the 30 - 40 clicks it takes to dismiss VS when there is a problem. Can they not just post the fix. I see no reason to contact MS since I have most likely sent about 1500 dumps to them and I would think...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
