Best Web Site

What is considered the best website for visual basic information and
knowledge. A couple of years ago I was directed to a site that had a forum
and I believe was based out of the UK that was very good, but I cannot find
it now.

Isn't that going to depend on who you ask?

Google says its Zarr's VB website
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&i...est+VB+website

You might go there and look for links to other VB sites....

If you want code examples, try here: http://vbnet.mvps.org/

Others you might want to try:
http://www.thescarms.com/vbasic/ (Something about everything)
http://www.devx.com/free/tips/tipresults.asp (A very long list of tips)

If you're looking for tutorials, try here:

Hi All, What is the best way to use a cookie to remember a logged in user? Would you store the username and password in two separate cookies? Should the password be plain text? Hashed? Not there at all? Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks! -Josh

Hi, I finally figured out the best way to synch local and remote script folders, containing many php script files. What I used to do before was try to ftp all the changed files, etc. which was tedious and often broke. It was also very slow. What I do now is to pkzip the folder up, ftp the pkzip’ed data to remote, and then unzip it there, which recreates the directories and files.

Using my About page as an example: http://members.shaw.ca/davepatton/about.html What is the best/proper way to markup a page such as this that has "the main body" and "a navigation menu"? It has been suggested before that I should have the navigation menu at the end of the HTML, so that a screen reader doesn't have to read it to get to the content, with the possible exception of having

Simple question... which is better to use for defining font sizes and why? px and em seem to be the leading candidates. I know what the general answer is going to be, but I'm hoping to ultimately get some good real world examples. Fire away! :) Regards, Peter Foti

Oddly enough, I found it difficult, using Google, to find a list of best-of sites based on the quality of their css packages. So I'd ask. Does anyone know of particularly good sites which are in good measure because of their creative and useful css designs? I'm aware of Zen Garden and a few others. So don't bother with those. And I hope I don't get replies from people with a 'tin ear' and no design sense. Good sites. Good pages. That's...

http://www.JavascriptToolbox.com/bestpractices/ I started writing this up as a guide for some people who were looking for general tips on how to do things the 'right way' with Javascript. Their code was littered with document.all and eval, for example, and I wanted to create a practical list of best practices that they could easily put to use. The above URL is version 1.0 (draft) that resulted. IMO, it is not a replacement for the FAQ,...

Hello, I am trying to use vs.net 2005 to migrate a project originally in vs.net 2003. I started with creation of a "web site", and then created folders for each component of the site. I read somewhere that each folder under the "web site" is compiled in separate assembly. I however, did not find that the "web site" creation in vs.net 2005 created any AssemblyInfo.cs file.

I have a small, embedded app that uses a webserver to serve up pages showing status, etc. Right now all the pages are hard-coded in English. We need to provide multi-lingual support. All of the pages are PHP generated. Ideally, I'd like for the PHP backend to serve up the language based a) the user's locale, and if that is not set, its own locale.

Hello all I am creating a VB.Net distributed SQL server 2005 application. Each computer in the system has a database with a table of users and their telephone numbers. Each computer has a unique 4 digit identifying code. The central server runs an application which reads the database table on each computer.

Hi, I know this is potentially off-topic, but because python is the language I'm most comfortable with and I've previously had experiences with plone, I'd as much advice as possible on this. I want to host a site where people can register to become a user. They should be able to maintain their own "showroom", where they can show blog entries (maybe just by linking to their own blogs on some other blog/album-hosting site like Xanga), put...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
