I would be really interested to know what editor developers are using for
doing their ASP pages. We used to use Visual Interdev but are no longer
licenced for that and Notepad is a bit basic. Dreamweaver seems to be
'visual' based so is not that useful as we use a VFP7 backend.
What good (cheap) tools are recommended?
Thanks for any help,
Bernie

On a school network, using notepad or wordpad, running windows xp, the
system is not allowing a save as FILE.html. it saves as .txt even when
set to 'all files' in notepad and 'text only' in wordpad. Im
wondering if there is a system setting that is preventing this.
In addition, if anyone knows of kid friendly html authoring sites, i
would appreciate some links for teaching html.
Thanx in Advance

To open a notepad file, right now I am using Process.start. But this does not ensure that the file is opened in readonly mode
How can I make a notepad file open in Readonly mode
I do not want to change its attributes to Readonly
I do not want to open it in browser or in any other editor except notepad
I do not want to use MFCAppWizard of VC++ or VB to create my own editor.
I do not want to paste the text in some richtextbox...

I have VB .Net Standard Edition. Is it possible to create DLLs with that?
Essentially, I have subroutines that I use in different programs, and I would
like to reference them without having to copy them into each program. How do
I do this?

I wrote an app that alerts a user who attempts to open a file that the
file is currently in use. It works fine except when the file is
opened by Notepad. If a text file is opened, most computers are
configured to use Notepad to open the file by default and if they are
configured to use Notepad by default I want it to remain that way
rather than retrieve the text into my app or force the user to use
another app to read the file. I'm...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
