Creating a Notepad HTML editor

Greetings to all,

I am a hobbyist programmer using MS Visual Basic 6 which I bought at the
local university book store. I would like to create a Notepad like HTML
editor. I was wondering if there was a tutorial anywhere showing how to
create the basic framework for this type of program, and/or would anyone
here that is experienced with this type of thing be interested in assisting
me on my endeavor.

I am a quick learner and very good listener. Anyone interested can reach me
at my e-mail address. Replace nospam with sprigget.

Thank's for your time and consideration,

Peter

You might try searching Google for : VB html editor code
or something similar. There are probably sample projects
available that are like what you want to do. I remember seeing
one a long time back. I think it was called Blue Ice.

I would be really interested to know what editor developers are using for doing their ASP pages. We used to use Visual Interdev but are no longer licenced for that and Notepad is a bit basic. Dreamweaver seems to be 'visual' based so is not that useful as we use a VFP7 backend. What good (cheap) tools are recommended? Thanks for any help, Bernie

On a school network, using notepad or wordpad, running windows xp, the system is not allowing a save as FILE.html. it saves as .txt even when set to 'all files' in notepad and 'text only' in wordpad. Im wondering if there is a system setting that is preventing this. In addition, if anyone knows of kid friendly html authoring sites, i would appreciate some links for teaching html. Thanx in Advance

I wrote an app that alerts a user who attempts to open a file that the file is currently in use. It works fine except when the file is opened by Notepad. If a text file is opened, most computers are configured to use Notepad to open the file by default and if they are configured to use Notepad by default I want it to remain that way rather than retrieve the text into my app or force the user to use another app to read the file. I'm...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
