Reading a picture in an rtf file

does anyone know how to carve out a picture (jpg, gif, bmp, whatever)
that is embedded in a RichTextFormat file?

I have figured out how to read through an rtf line by line, but when
it gets to the picture, it just shows gobbledy-gook and I don't know
what to do with it. I'd like to be able to take that image
information and write it to a new file...

any suggestions?

Thanks.

I have over 5000 thumbnail pictures of size 5kb each. I would like to able to load all 5000 pictures and view 50 per page using mysql_data_seek(). I would like to know what are the advantages and disadvantages of using a MySQL blob field rather than reading the images directly from the file? How does one insert an image into a blob field? Can it be done dynamically? Thank you John

I have a simple problem: I have an Access database (images.mdb) that has 2 columns: one is the id of the picture (an integer) and one (column named picture) is a field of type OLE Object which contains an image (it can store jpg, bmp, gif, but I don't know what image is stored inside). I want to retrieve the picture stored in the database and identified by a given id and display it in a web page (.aspx). I write in Visual C#, but it does...

I'm working on distributing a database using VS Tools for Office, and am having trouble with linked images on forms/reports. The image objects have a default path\file set on the .Picture property, which becomes invalid when the user installs the database (ie: c:\devpath\ becomes c:\program files\mydbapp, but the .Picture property still points to c:\devpath\) The problem is that I don't *know* what installation path the user will select,...

hi, i am trying to use the fileSystemObject methods to read a picture file as a text (forcefully), store it in a variable, and then i try writing it back to a file and opening it up with a text editor. I just don't get why they get corrupted: var ForReading = 1; var TriStateUni = -2; var fso = new ActiveXObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject"); var newFile = fso.OpenTextFile(localPath, ForReading, false, TriStateUni); var tempText =...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
