I'm looking to find or create an ASP script that will take a string, examine
it for a search term, and if it finds the search term in the string, return
the highlighted search term along with the words that surround it. In other
words, I want the search term highlighted and shown in an excerpt of the
context in which it appears.
Any suggestions or pointers? This behavior is most often seen as part of a
search engine. In my case, I want...

I know Jakob Neilsen and a bunch of other usability advocates and
critics usually frown on usage frames. However, most people probably
seem to have at least version 5 of IE or newer and I am toying with the
idea of just using a small topframe in my site design.
Do any of you have strong opinions either for or against frames? I
personally don't mind sites with them if the borders are hidden and they
are well-designed...
Thanks,

My manager wants me to develop a search program, that would work like they
have it at edorado.com.
She made up her requirements after having compared how search works at
different websites, like eBay, Yahoo and others.
This is what she wants my program to be able to do:
(try this test at different websites just for fun).
At eBay:
- enter the word 'television' in a search field à you will get 2155 items.

Hi All,
I have the following problem, and I would be extremely grateful if
somebody would be kind enough to suggest an efficient solution to it.
I create an instance of a Class A, and "push_back" a copy of this into a
vector V. This is repeated many times in an iterative process.
Ok whenever I "push_back" a copy of Class A, I also want to assign a
pointer contained in an exisiting instance of a Class B to this

Hi,
Does anybody know what the fastest way is to "search for a value in a
singly-linked list from its tail" as oposed to its head?
I am talking about a non-circular singly-linked list, i.e., head and tail
are not connected.
Of course, recursive function aproach to traverse the list is one way. But,
depending upon the list size, it could overrun the stack pretty fast.

What is the fastest way to search a client-side database?
I have about 60-65 kb of data downloaded to the client which is
present in 3 dynamically created list boxes. The boxes are filled from
3 string arrays, which are just lists of people or companies in
alphabetic order. These names may have accented and umlauted
characters (which are present as the plain ASCII - not as the entity
&# character). The page is UTF-8 encoded.
e.g. ...

I have a python script that is driving Excel and using the win32com
module. However, upon program completion there's still an Excel.exe
process running in the background that I must terminate through Task
Manager. Reading up on other threads indicate that maybe I still have
some Excel objects referenced within my code. Is this why the process
doesn't terminate?
The related (I hope) parts of my code is here.

I am running Windows XP Home SP2. On the lower right side of the pop-up start menu there is normally a magnifying glass (icon) next to the word "search" in between links for "help and support" and "run".
My "search" icon (and thus my link) in my start menu has disappeared and I have no idea how to restore it.
This search icon/link appears, though, at the top of and on the left-hand side of the window that opens when I click "my...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
