I wrote some C functions and successfully imported them into Python.
All is apparently well but there is one question about the object returned
by the C function that is bugging me...
Take for example this last line of a C extension:
return Py_BuildValue("s", my_string);

I am trying to write a function that takes a reference to an object as its
arguement. The object is created in another function and I am trying to pass
the object to another function from within the function that created the
object. I have cut out some code as I dont think showing a for loop is
helpful.
void TMP3_Main_Form::LoadMP3()
{
TMemoryStream *MP3Stream = new TMemoryStream();...

Any comments on the correctness of the statements 1, 2a, 2b, 3 and 4 in
the code below?
If they are correct, then the definition of an object as well as that of
an lvalue is broken in C99 by the following reasoning:
foo() does not return an object, so the return of foo() conceptually is
not stored, yet we are able to obtain a pointer to one of its member
elements, therefore it must be stored, therefore foo() does return an
object,...

Hello all,
I'm passing a reference to a class into the constructor of a form, like
so: public MyForm(int count, ref Area myArea) {...}
How can I use myArea outside the constructor? Should I create another
Area and assign myArea to it (ie: Area foo = myArea;) or is there a
better way?

Some of the object properties in the Dojo Toolkit are set to objects
but they are using syntax like this:
object.property = new function() {
this.property = someValue;
this.property = someFunction;
}
Is the property set to a new object and if so what is the "new
function()" statment doing?

I have a vector of a class type and when I create an object inside a
function and return that and add it to the vector, it doesn't properly
keep the data inside it. So I have a few questions:
1. Is this because it loses scope since it wasn't created with "new"?
2. If I do create it with new, but the vector holds objects not
pointers, will the vector's "delete" operator function still handle
deleting all those pointers?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
