Hi group I have been making a windows service to execute an external
application. I use a timer control, I can execute the application but
does't appear as a normal windows, just I see it in the windows task manager
as a
local service. I think it must appear as a normal process. Someone
knows about it or has any idea?

Hello,
I would like to ask for any ideas how to do user authorization for file
upload which is done via an external application (not HtmlInputFile control).
I have an asp.net web site which uses Forms authentication to protect
pages in "members area". I've also created an application (upload wizard)
that allows users to easily upload their files, using "upload.aspx" in
members area. The problem is how to perform user authentication...

Hi,
One of my developers are facing an interesting problem regarding
UserControl invalidation.
The problem is:
We have two forms in our application. Form A does nothing except
loading of Form B and Form B contains an array of UserButton kind of
contol (we have created our own buttons deriving from UserButton). All
the drawings activities in Form B are okay and nothing gets wrong if we

Hi group,
I must launch from my Winforms application another application (.exe
developed by the client) which response time sometimes can be more or
less 30 seconds.
I'm using ProcessManager class and WaitForExit() to start it and wait
till it rsponds me. It's necessary for the application to get a
response, that's why I use WaitForExit().
I don't have access to the external .exe developed by the client,

Hello,
It may be a repeated question but I don't find the solution to the situation
that I encounter in it.
My application is monitoring another application that is built in VB6. The
application monitors all the textboxes and other input & display controls on
that application.
The data from the textboxes and listboxes are retrived fine. But, when it
comes to Listview there I got memory exception.
I know that I need to do the in memory...

HI, I'm fairly new to VB.net and am trying to write an application that controls another.
Basically at the moment I'm using the SendKeys function to control it as the external application has no command line controls. I was trying to find out if there is a way to send the keystrokes to the application while keeping it hidden, i.e. using some API call or something to focus to it?
Also I would like to close the application when it had...

Hi.
I have created a dll in VC++ 08 that exports a CLR windows form class. I call into this dll from an external (closed source, third-party) application to instantiate the form and embed it into the external application window using SetParent(). The problem is, the form runs in the external application window, but the external application no longer updates (renders, responds to close button click, etc.).
Now I know the reason is that in...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
