A year or two back I needed a search script to scan thru HTML files
on a client site. Usual sorta thing. A quick search turned up a
neat script that provided great search results. It was fast,
returned the hyperlinked page title, filename, and the body txt (30
preceding and following words) in context with the search word
highlighted. Excellent.!

Hello,
I am working on a small windows application for a client, and as one of the
functions they want a search that will let them enter a search string, then
search a directory for all flies that contain that search string AND display
the lines that contain the search string.
They have windows ME, XP and 2000 systems.
Does anyone have any ideas as to the most efficient way to do this?

"Enter last Name", just put in any first letter to find the last names
begining with that letter. such as type in: y, will give all possible

Aside from text within a document, Indexing Service let you search on
meta information stored in the files. For example, MusicArtist and
MusicAlbum let you find MP3 and other music files based on the singer
and album name; DocAuthor let you find Office documents created by a

I'm using Visual C# 2005 version 2.0.50727. When I use the "Find In
Files" command to search for text in my "Entire Solution", nothing
appears in the Find Results window. This was working until today. I am
searching for text that I know appears in the files, I am NOT using
case sensitive, whole words, or regular expressions. I have tried
using *.cs as well as *.*.

I'm working on a project that searches one file for words and their replacements found in another file. I'm stuck at the beginning. I think, I need to put the words in the file in an array so I can search the array, but I'm not sure how to do this. If someone could help me get started I can work on the rest of the code.

I am new to python and wanted to write something for myself where
after inputing two words it would search entire drive and when finding
both names in files name would either copy or move thoe files to a
specified directory.
But couple of attempts did not work as desired this is one of them.
