In the context of LATEX, some Pythonista asked what the big
successes of Lisp were. I think there were at least three *big*
successes.
a. orbitz.com web site uses Lisp for algorithms, etc.
b. Yahoo store was originally written in Lisp.
c. Emacs
The issues with these will probably come up, so I might as well
mention them myself (which will also make this a more balanced

I keep getting the following warning in my compile:
Warning: The dependency 'WBWebServices, Version=1.0.1289.13943,
Culture=neutral' in project 'WBWin' cannot be copied to the run directory
because it would overwrite the reference 'WBWebServices,
Version=1.0.1289.15088, Culture=neutral'.
If I delete and readd the reference, it compiles fine but when I come leave
and return to Visual Studio.NET, the error pops up again when I recompile...

In the project I'm working on, I have a reference to another project of

Greetings!
It is found that pg_dump does not dump function referred in CHECK
constraint definations before dumping the table defination . As a result
the tables
do not get restored due to lack of defined functions.
Is it something that will be worked upon in future ?

I have a small ClickOnce application which communicates with the server
it loaded from. When I created the ClickOnce app, I added a Web
Reference to a .asmx file on the server. The app then uses this
reference to make calls to the server. That all works nicely.
However, at deployment, every server will have a unique name
(obviously). Yet my ClickOnce app will still have its hard-coded web
reference.
How can I change the web reference...

For some reason in my visual C# 2005 express installation, when ever i
publish even a simple app, in the properties, the "sign the clickonce
manifest" and the "enable the clickonce security setting" get checked
automatically .
Even if I uncheck it, it gets rechecked when I try to publish it. (with
a temporary certificate)
I have the app not check for updates and just install from CD, is there
any global setting that is causing it get...

While ASP.Net is migrating toward more robust presentation by using things
like AJAX I am wondering if ClickOnce will errode a lot of ASP.Net presence
in Corporate Applications. I've been reading a lot about ClickOnce and it
seems compelling particularily since Vista will have the .Net framework
included along with the other requirements for ClickOnce deployment.
Is there some downside to ClickOnce deployment that I'm now aware of?

I read google and tried to find the solution myself. YES I do know that
you can get undefined references if you:
a) forget to implement the code for a prototype/header file item, or
b) you forget to pass all the necessary object files to the linker.
Neither of those are my problem. Please bear with me as the question
I ask is rather long and I think it's beyond a CS101 level of linker
stupidity. If it is a stupid CS101 mistake I'm making...

I can get a dump. I can send it in to M$. I can inspect it but cannot
get it in my hands so I can not post it here and get comments and/or
answers. Can I get hold of that dump somewhere? Is it all in memory or
is a file written somewhere on the failing machine's HD?
The application does not get to the first line of user code.
It is completely repeatable. I have repeated it over and over and sent
in the dump several times.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
