Hello! I am using Graphics.DrawString to draw some text on my usercontrols and I have discovered that when I turn on edge smoothing in Windows XP some of my drawn text appears as if it was bold. Not all text is affected though. It seems that only text that is drawn on a transparent surface (Bitmap) gets messed up. For better understandning of my problem take a look at these screenshots:

I am wondering if there is a way to disable the "X" used to close the Access application window? I know how to disable it for individual forms, but I would like to disable it for the application in general and force users to use a button on the switchboard to close (because I run important code on the close of the database from that button). Any ideas are always appreciated. Thanks!

Is it possible to determine with javascript or other means if the user has any sort of font-smoothing in effect on their os or ua? Serif'd fonts don't look so nice on non-smoothed systems, so, i'd rather switch to plain old Arial... The idea is to detect this fact and then alter the font/s that are used to display a website via javascript - modifying the dom tree, I guess. Thanks,

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
