Recurring Diary Entry Problem.

TC
Hi, I have an app that is going to require recurring diary entries, it's a
relatively simple app but I have no idea how to go about the recurring entry
side of things.

The functionality needs to be similar to outlook in the way the recurring
entries work, but the system will be built around a MySql database and I
don' want to add thousands of records, although each recurring entry could
contain different information.

Any ideas would be gratefully received.

I don't know how Outlook does it, but I think you could have just a
single Master entry and then a separate entry for each occurrence that
has any data that is different than the master. Or a secondary table
that held recurrence information for each entry that has it.

Hi all, I am writing a database using SQL as the back end and Access as the front end. My project is to create a rota for when people have to work. The problem I have is setting up the tables so I can query them correctly. I currently have a staff table which holds the staff_id and staff_name fields. I have a worktime table that has the staff_id, date, start time, end time as fields. What I would like to do able to do is have a

I'm having a calendar feature developed whereby users can add recurring events. These recurring events can have start and end dates, meaning they will recur only within a date range. For instance, user A creates an event that recurs every Tuesday, from 1/1/05 - 3/2/06. The developer has decided that it would be good to have another table that stores each individual recurring event in a separate record. His logic is that this will help...

I initially tried building a coded system where numbers 1 through 10 referenced a certain type of recurring appointment, and would then call a specific function for each, but as more appointments were added things began to slow down quite a bit. I've taken a different approach since, and decided to create a single record for each recurring appointment, but this has problems as well due to the fact that I have to search each time slot going...

If you haven't read the book, nor watched the movie, "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets". Harry Potter finds a diary with nothing written in it. When he starts writing in it, the diary erases what he just wrote. Then the diary itself writes a reply back on the same page. I've implemented a magic diary using a chatbot and AJAX and some cool scripting. Link to the magical diary:

I have a Verizon Palm Treo 755p and use Outlook 2002 on my new HP Pavilion (Vista 64-bit). When I was syncing on my old XP PC, everything worked fine. On the Vista PC, when I finally got it to sync (using a Bluetooth USB adapter), I ended up with recurring appointments that act wierd when I try to delete, move or edit them. It won't allow any of these changes, saying various messages: 1) If I try to open the recurring appointment: ...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
