Hello all. I have finally bitten the bullet and seriously started to learn
VB.NET. I have the developement enviromnent installed and integrated my
latest MSDN dated July 2005. If someone is thru with a later version ( say
Oct 2006, Jan 2007 or so ) and would let me have it, I will gladly pay
shipping and handling cost for it. Thanks in advance, Jim Richards 10 1355
You might consider using MSDN online wich has the same information and more
as the installable version
in fact it is so good that i don`t even bother to install the MSDN DVD ,
only requirment is a good stable internet connection http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/default.aspx

Thank you Michael for the link (I added it to my favorites) to the MSDN.
This poses a problem for me in that you know which topic to lookup to get
help but I need it integrated with my IDE so that I can press F1 and it will
find the appropriate help. Jim

Armin
Herfried,
I can use some company from an MVP as I tell that on certain places at
Microsoft.

Well here on my Orange 20 Mbit connection it is acceptable , it only takes a
few seconds also downloading from CONXION ( file servers from MS ) is verry
fast here aprox 10 mbit
To Cor :
Get rid of your Planet account Cor, they are ripping you off ! i only
pay 30 euros a month for a 20 mbit downstream and 1 mbit upstream connection
inclusive free telephony , compared to 54 ,95 ADSL comfort from Planet
with 6 Mbit down and 764 kb UP and a extra line fee to KPN of 18 ,-- euros
a month and the standard telephony costs .
Maybe we are just lucky here in the Netherlands , cause we have a verry good
internet infrastructure

*LOL* I upgraded to a fast 2Mbit connection recently. No volume limit
anymore, less costs, doubled speed (1Mbit before), so I am very happy with
it. Not long ago 56K modem.
I guess you are living at the upper end but that's by far not the standard.
BTW, the page is really remarkably slow compared to others.
Armin
Michel,
I know however it are forever the email accounts and webserver that are
binding.
But in my idea should a website even perform on 64Kb as you think that we
are in the BeNeLux in a favour situation (in this case) because of our short
distances (And one of the main nodes in Amsterdam).

Need to maintain or re-write some DOS apps. I was told that Microsoft
Visual C++ 1.52, being discontinued, was something I could legally get a
copy of from someone. Is this true? And if so, would anyone know where I
could download it?

A client wants me to do a conversion from Access 2.0 (yeah, I know, unreal).
The problem is, she doesn't have the install disks and I haven't had a copy
of 2.0 in years.
If some kind should could kindly point me to a place where I might get a
copy, I would be grateful.
I'm willing to do a trade for it.

Hello all,
From doing a google serach in the newsgroups I found out that a
string can't be returned from a function, but using a char* I should
be able to do it. I have spent most of the day trying to get this to
work, but been unable to solve my mistake. What the function should
return is a file name used for creating logs files. It will look
something like

Hi all,
I've spent the last year writing a new pricing application for my employer.
Everyone within the company and my first few beta testers are doing fine, but
I have one who is getting this error message:
"The .Net Date OLE DB Provider (System.Data.OleDb) requires Microsoft Data
Access Components (MDAC) version 2.6 or later. Version 02.10.4202.0 was

We are having a lot of trouble with problems relating to failures relating
to 'The located assembly's manifest definition with name 'xxx' does not

ones that we build here and we're not changing version numbers on anything.
The errors come and go with no apparent rhyme or reason.

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
