Access 2.0 -- Need Install Disks

A client wants me to do a conversion from Access 2.0 (yeah, I know, unreal).

The problem is, she doesn't have the install disks and I haven't had a copy
of 2.0 in years.

If some kind should could kindly point me to a place where I might get a
copy, I would be grateful.

I'm willing to do a trade for it.

I wouldn't normally go trolling for software here but not many people have
that one laying around and Microsoft isn't exactly selling it anymore.

You don't need Access 2.0 disks; you can't save the Access 2.0 database as a
later version from Access 2.0. You need a later version; you can convert
that database from 2.0 to the newer version with the newer version. You can
do that directly with versions earlier than Access 2003... or go through
some hassles with Access 2003.

Buying Access 2.0 will be nothing but a waste of time and money, as far as
the conversion is concerned.

I just want to be able to view the database exactly as it currently works
while rewriting the forms and adding new functionality to it. I'm just
making sure I'm being careful.

Sometimes inexpensive copies of Access 2.0 can be found at the online
auction sites; sometimes there are none; sometimes what's there has been bid
up to a price I wouldn't even consider paying. Occasionally, I will see a
copy still in shrink-wrap at a computer swap meet, but that is "hit or
miss". As a matter of fact, a quick "Smart Search" at ebay on "Access 2.0"
turned up three copies, one of which has a "Buy It Now" price of $19.95.
You'd have to bid on the other two.

If there are no API calls (Access 2.0 is 16-bit and uses the 16-bit Win 3.1
API calls; later versions use 32-bit API calls for Win 95 and later), there
are really few major problems in converting a straightforward application.
And, the more common API calls are relatively easy to manually convert.

And, you aren't destroying the original; why don't you try converting it and
see what happens. Just to give yourself a "comfort level" copy the original
and convert the copy.
