I have a form with lines of controls. On some of the lines there are 3
controls (call them A,B,C); other lines have only control A. The controls
have been numbered sequentially (Q20, Q21....Q76) and they were put onto the
form in the numerical sequence. I have given the A's with B & C's on the
same line a tag=1; B.tag=2, C,tag=2)

Hi,
I have an aspx page where some controls are initially disabled by the
code-behind 'Page_Load' event. I want these controls to be dynamically
enabled when the user checks a checkbox. Because I don't want a post-back,
I added some javascript to do this
However, using client-side JS, I cannot enable any controls that have been
disabled by server-side code. If the control is initially enabled, I can
disable/enable it client-side.

they are filled using data from a database and a loop that
creates the listitems and adds them, no databinding.

Hi there,
If a control is disabled (enabled = false), will the validator controls associated with it automatically know not to carry out validation?
I have a page with a bunch of controls and depending on what is passed in through the querystring, I disable some of those controls in my code-behind. However, my validator controls still seem to be trying to validate the disabled controls.

I have two different problems:
1. When the user has clicked on a button that is causing the browser
to post back to the server, it could take a little while for the new

I have a requirement to disable some textboxs depending on their
contents. I choose to do this by invoking some javascript. When they
change the contents, i disable the textbox they just put new data into
and focus on another textbox.
My logic works fine, the textboxes get disabled.
However, when the page posts back, the disabled textbox contents (which
were changed before disabling) DOES NOT GO BACK TO THE SERVER. The

Is there a way to disable a web form control (change the Enabled
