Hi All: I have this line of code, but the syntax check in VB.NET 2003 and also in VB.NET 2005 Beta 2 shows as unknown: Dim local4 As Byte Fixed(local4 = AddressOf dest(offset)) CType(local4, Short) = CType(src, Short)

I'm using the System.Drawing.Bitmap class for loading a 32-bit bmp file which includes an alpha channel. The problem is, when it gets loaded (just using the Bitmap(string filename) constructor), it doesn't bother bringing the alpha along with it. All of the pixels just show "255" as their alpha value and Bitmap.IsAlphaPixelFormat() returns false. I know that the alpha does exist physically and has worked with this exact image in other...

hello, - I have a Bitmap Object named: bmp1 - I already have the numerical values of:red, blue and green colors + I have the X and Y cordinates. How do I set the pixel value via safe code on the bmp1 object? (the pixel location based on the X & Y values and it's color based on the red, blue and green values the I already have)

I want to clear all of the byes that are associated with a BitmapData object. I know that one technique would be to do the following: '... Dim bitmapData As Drawing.Imaging.BitmapData = myBitmap.LockBits(rect, flags, format) '... Dim arrayLength As Integer = (bitmapData.Stride * bitmapData.Height) Dim emptyByteArray(arrayLength - 1) As Byte System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.Copy(emptyByteArray, 0,

In a previous post I have been asking about a way to test Alpha Transparency. Bob and Michael have kindly provided some ideas. Here I would like to share the function I have prepared, for the purpose to improve it. Frankly, I am not clear about the exact meaning of some pixel format (max, gdi, etc.) and I hope I have put them under the right "case". I have made only some superficial test and it seems to work. Note that the purpose is...

I am trying to convert in C# a VB.NET routine (which probably came from C# ! ) I need to translate using pointers (this should get the Alpha byte in a 32bppPArgb bitmap): Function AlphaValue32bppPArgb(ByVal x As Int32, ByVal y As Int32, ByVal data As BitmapData) As Byte Return Marshal.ReadByte(data.Scan0, y * data.Stride +

I have an RGB color held in a Int32 variable. I using an unsafe code to loop through Bitmap data, and by using the BitmapData.Scan0 pointer I need to copy the Int32 color value into the Bitmap data. But using the: ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Bitmap img = new Bitmap(100, 200, System.Drawing.Imaging.PixelFormat.Format32bppRgb); System.Drawing.Imaging.BitmapData refData =...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
