create new datatable from existing datatable

I am trying to find a way to create a new DataTable from an existing
DataTable by selecting only certain columns and with a conditional.

For example I want to do something like this:
Dim myOriginalDataT able as DataTable
Dm myNewDataTable as DataTable

myNewDataTable = myOriginalDataT able(select column1, column3, column4
where column5 = 1)

That is the psuedo code for it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

A simple question: I've read a couple of things that indicates I can create a new table in my database using some SQL command. Is this correct? I would like to load a database into a DataSet, make changes to the existing DataTable(s), add NEW DataTable(s) if necessary and save the changes back to the database. I'm stuck on this problem. Any documentation on this would be great. Thanks,

my brain has short-circuited. I am trying to add a DataTable to an existing DataTable (of same schema i.e. no columns etc). Cannot find an add method of datatable and the rows add method has no overload for multiple rows. Any ideas? -- Br,

If I have just filled a DataTable in a typed DataSet with a single row, is there a way I can make a copy of that row, so that I can clear the DataTable in that DataSet and use it for another query, but my copy of the row will be preserved? If I try to do something like this: this.oleDbWbuserAdapter.SelectCommand.CommandText = "SELECT * FROM wbuser where username='bennett';"; this.oleDbWbuserAdapter.Fill(ds1.wbuser);

I have a MustInherits Base class that implements a custom IDataLayer interfase. IDataLayer expose CRUD methods. Base class constructor requires two parameters: ConnectionString TableName Another assembly, sharing the root namespace, contains a set of Custom attributes used to validate properties values, just like the Validation Application Block.

I want to create a new column in a datatable from two existing columns. I have no problem to create the new column using the datatable.columns.add method. The problem is the value of the new column may become system.dbnull since one of the two existing columns may have system.dbnull. How can I fix it so the new column will get the value of the other column even the other column is system.dbnull?

I have a program to display queries to a SQL db. I type my query in a textbox and click a button and the results display in a datagrid. I could use either dataset or datatable to read the data in then I make the datagrid.datasource = myds.Tables(0) or mydt. Now what I want is to be able to change the query and click the button again and get the new results. I can use clear() to clear the data from a ds/dt but I need the structure gone...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
