How to call grid's edit command through javascript?

I am using VB as code behind of ASP.Net (Framework 1.1)

I want to call grid's edit command through javascript. This requirements
comes, when I want to facilitate user to call edit command by clicking any of
the columns of particular row. Please note I can do this with help of
assigning edit command to all columns but that will give hyperlink style and
I do not want that. Again I do call this javascript using __doPostBack(), but
this required ID of row & column which I do not able find. So is there
anyother way to call edit command from javascript of mouse click event?

Please help me. Thanks in Advance.

Hi there, What determines the sizes of rows / columns / cells when a grid is in edit mode ? When I click the edit command of a row item, the whole grid 'bounces' to a much larger size... and after update it reduces back again. I have a custom crafted grid (AutoGenerateColumns = False) ... and can have not placed any setting that would seem to cause this behaviour.

Using Visual Studio 2003, C#, .NET 1.1. I have a web form with a few textboxes, a couple of dropdown lists, and a data grid. The data grid is populated from a SQL stored procedure. The user can select a row to edit by clicking an EDIT link, which triggers an Edit command. The textboxes and dropdowns are then populated with the data from the data grid. I've added a new column to the data grid and a checkbox control. The column is...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
