any know issues in installing VB.NET 2005 Express, VS.NET 2005 Standard, SQL Server 2005 Express and SQL Server 2005

I've installed SQL Server 2005 Express along with VS.NET 2005 Standard.
Just wanted to know whether it would be safe to install VB.NET 2005 Express.

Also, at a latter stage I'll be installing SQL Server 2005

Just need to know if there are any known issues in installing all of the
above.\

Cheers

LeAnne,

In my experience with this I saw not any problem.

However for a real investigation I would go searching on Google. And because
it is computing, than you even never are sure. A bug can become just because
of a date that is used and expiries.

Life is not good. So I've got a machine that I do some development work on, nothing major, but I'd like to keep some things intact. I'm running SQL Server 7, it's an old installation, but it works and I've got a number of databases on it. So I see the new 2005 Express downloads and I download the Web Developer edition, install it, it installs 2005, but my SQL Server 7 installation now seems to be hosed.

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnsse/html/sseoverview.asp SQL Server Express was developed with two distinct uses in mind. The first is as a server product, especially as a Web server or a database server. The second is as a local client data store where the application data access does not depend on the network. Ease of use and simplicity are key design goals.

Hi Everyone, I bought visual studio and installed it yesterday. In the pack was the SQL server 2005 Developers edition DVD so when it came to installing VS i decided not to bother installing SQL Express - didn't see much point in having the express version and the fully loaded version installed. Installed everything and then created a new project - went to add a database to the project but it said i couldn't because i didn't have...

I managed to get it installed OK, along side MS Visual Studio 2005 (with which I received it). During the install, I made sure I installed everything. I have developed a number of applications using MySQL v 5 and PostgreSQL, but I have not worked with MS SQL. Playing with it after installing it, and running through several tutorials, I generally like what I see, but there are a few issues (so far - I am sure others will crop up as...

Hey all, I'm still very new at all this, but am going through the ASP.net 2.0 unleashed book, first chapter and trying to program my own little form emailer for fun. I tried following the code for their version in the book to the best of my abiltiies, and came across issues, mostly that a type was expected when trying to compile in MS Visual Studio 2002. When my stuff wasn't working at all, I decided to try just using his code almost...

I am having a number of problems over the last two full days trying to get an ASP.NET 2.0 application to connect to a SQL Server 2005 database... First off, I built this application w/ Visual Studio 2005 SP1 and had it working perfectly on my Windows XP machine on SQL Server 2005 Express. I decided to publish this application to a test development server (with both the SQL and IIS servers on the same box) running on: Windows Server...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
