I would like to open a 'child' window win and check it's ready state.
Unfortunately, when I try to do so, I discover that win.document does
not appear accessable from the parent window, see below. Is this by
design or am I doing something wrong.

I have employed as a developer in a software company that its team uses
FoxPro / VB 6.0 / VC++ 6.0 as the developing tools and newly is going to
migrate to VS.NET. There is a project modified that is to upgrade a big,

I am learning Javascript; and most books only give you partial
definitions for the functions they show you. Here is a line of code
from a browser sniffing function:
var isWin = (navigator.platform.indexOf("Win") !=-1) ? true:false;
What does the -1 stand for.
Excuse me for such a basic question, but I can't find the answer

Just wondered what range of browsers, versions and OSs people are using

Hi,
I'm not a Win ME fan myself (I'm a Mac user), but I'm here in Thailand
developing software for special-needs kids, and the test PC in my home
office is a Win ME machine (sigh). So when I ported my Python program
today to the PC, it quickly crashed. Everything seems to work except
for shelve. Using the latest version of Python (2.5.1), when I do the
following in IDLE on the Win ME machine here's the result:

I have a program that can be started as windows service or as an
windows app.
I need to avoid starting this program as an application if it is
already started as a win service.
In code when program starts as a win service I create named mutex.
Then if user tries to start program as a win application I am checking
if Mutex with the same name exists already and exit program if Mutex

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
