How do you create a popup window containing a list of MDI child forms?

Hi all,

I have an MDI application with a function that displays a popup window
(through the showdialog method) which displays all the current MDI child
windows.

I know how to get a list of the current MDI children from either the MDI
parent or a child form, but how do I do it when the popup form trying to
access this list is neither, but the MDI container is the parent form of this
popup?

I have tried many different things in the load event of the popup, but keep
getting exceptions. Has anyone else done this successfully or can give me
some pointers?

regards,

Mac

Mac,

I assume that you are now popping up with show.

In my opinion is the best method to use for this showdialog.

I hope this helps,

I would like to generate non-modal popup windows from ASP.Net code-behind. I have tried using Client Side scripting like "function Test(){ window.open('test.htm',_blank, 'height=200,width=400,status=no,toolbar=no, menubar=no,location=no resizable=no scrollable=no'); but I can't seem to invoke the client side script from within a Server Side Form. I know I can use the context with to Response.redirect or Server.transfer to return a

Hi, This isn't a mission critical question but I thought I'dl throw it out there for your feedback as it's a bit curious. I have developed a shopping cart for an application I'm working on which is loosely based on the e-commerce example in the quickstarts tutorial. In the cart display I have provided functionality so that when a user clicks on a product name a popup is opened with the full product details displayed.

I am thinking about using a popup window to edit settings that will affect parent asp.net page. The data that is changed in the popup window will be saved to the datastore that is loaded and displayed by the parent page. In order to refresh the parent page, I would like to raise an event in the popup (child) page that is subscribed to by the parent so that I can rebind the data in the parent page once the data in the child window data is...

I did a ton of searching to try and find a simple solution to this issue and finally wrote my own, which I am sharing with everyone. In my searching, I did find a very complete and robust solution at http://weblogs.asp.net/asmith/archive/2003/09/15/27684.aspx but it was far more complex then I needed. (I got lost trying to figure it all out). Therefore, here goes my simple "web dialog box with parent event handler fireing" solution. ...

hi all, quick question, how do you submit a form to a parent window from a child popup window? i have the following and all online documentation *suggests* that it should work but it does NOT: // Parent window: <script language="JavaScript"> function popup(url, name) { window.open(url, name, "width=800,height=600,scrollbars=yes");

Hi , I have a form with javasript which launches a popup via the showModalDialog() method. I get the dialog to open, now I am trying to first get a reference to the calling form from the popup and then do a refresh of the calling form. Any ideas on how to get a reference to the calling form? I tried window.parent.location.reload() , but it doesn't work. Thanks a lot.

I have a page with some form elements that are dynamically generated. They are inserted into the dom by first cloning a node, changing the values like name, and then inserted with insertBefore(). When a field gets added, a link that opens a popup window is next to it. The popup is opened and has the name of the parent element it should change in it. The user can use the popup to get a list of results. In the results I would like them...

I've got a popup which currently returns a value to the opener by setting a hidden input in the opener: window.opener.document.forms.myHiddenField.value=returnValue; window.close(); I then want the opener window to perform some work on the returned

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
