Hi,
I am trying to create an installer for my web application. So I added a
web setup project to my solution (I am using VS.NET 2003). Been playing
around with it since then and it basically works.
Now, I am wondering if there is any way to change the directory that
the installer installs the files to. I want to be able to put my files
in a specified directory (user specified is good, but i don't mind
hardcoding the path either) and...

I am not sure this is the best place to ask this question, but here goes:
I am creating an installer which has a custom action that must know the
installation directory. That is, the installer has a dialog (Install | Start
| Installation Folder) allowing the user to change the installation
directory. Later in the installation process there is an AfterInstall custom
action (implemented as an AfterInstall event handler for the Install...

I've got a table with an entry type as "OLE Object" in Access 2003. In the
form that the table is linked to I want to insert an image (BMP) for each
record. However, when I attempt to do so the file is inserted and the
filename (image.bmp) is inserted in the box with it taking up about half of
the box. I didn't have this problem in Access XP. I've tried embedding and
linking the file, but this always happens. Can anyone offer any...

the problem is this custom dialog box is displayed as a popup window
during installation. But I want this custom dialog box to be shown as

I've been distributing a fairly mature, very specific MS Access
application to end users in small offices of colleges for several years
now. This is a part-time venture and low volume operation- this is
somewhat of a hobby for me. Many of my end users are computer phobic
and get little support from their IT departments. It is a split
database so the datafile gets put on the file server and the 3
different front ends get put on each local...

I have built several very simple setup projects where I just install a
single application. I am using the installation tools that come with Visual
Studio 2005.
This setup I want to build has 2 applications, a windows forms proj and a
Windows Service proj (which has a project installer added).
So far, I have used the setup designer to add an extra dialog to the Start
section of the User interface between "Welcome" and "Installation Folder"....

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
