For my personal use I am accessing a railway timetable page, parsing its
contents and then sending brief relevant information as the subject line of
an email to be read on a mobile phone.
The problem comes when I try to parse a second page, the url of which, I
have derived from an initial page.
I cannot go directly to the second (target) page but from the initial page
derive the url and put it in a string called $strTarget
In one...

I'm trying to write a program like hexel. I guess I could fish out the
source for hexel and look at that, but for now I'm trying to figure out how
I can do with with std::stringstream and std::string. I had something
working with std::string. I simply treated it as an STL container, and
iterated over its elements. The results were a bit confusing to me. Some
of the stuff was printing out as 1 or 2 characters hex numbers, as I...

I have a VB.NET application running on Windows 2000 Pro. I have a DeskJet
5550 printer, with the Windows default setup specifying to print in
grayscale.
From a 3rd-Party DLL called QuickPDF, I specified monochrome and print the
document. It ignores the monochrome flag and prints in color, so I figured
QuickPDF needs to go back to the drawing board.
But then I tried transferring the document into a MemoryStream and printing
it using...

I am still struggling with this. Used the PrintDocument class, but it
was printing gobblygook. Does not recognize the PDF files as Acrobat
files and just prints text.
Can't get the shell command to work.
Tryed
print C:\test.pdf

So I'm writing a bot in python that will be able to do all kinds of
weird shit. One of those weird shit is the ability to translate text
from one language to another, which I figured I'd use google translate
to do. Here is the section for translation that I'm having trouble
with:
elif(line=="translate"): #if user inputs
translate
text=""
for i in range(abuindex+2, len(line)): #concantenate all

SHORT VERSION:
Python File B changes sys.stdout to a file so all 'prints' are written
to the file. Python file A launches python file B with os.popen("./B
2>&^1 >dev/null &"). Python B's output disappears into never-never
land.
LONG VERSION:
I am working on a site that can kick off large-scale simulations. It
will write the output to an html file and a link will be emailed to
the user. Also, the site will continue to display...

I am trying to print huge images (much bigger than target paper). I try
and use e.PageSettings.HardMarginX and e.PageSettings.HardMarginY in the
PrintDocument's PrintPage event to try and determine the maximum area
that I can print on. However, the edge of the image invariably gets cut
off, as if the HardMargin info is wrong. I posted the code below as I
can't understand what I am doing wrong. Is information in
e.PageSettings reliable?...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
