Side-by-side install of 2005 Beta?

I have the Visual Studio 2005 Beta 2 and am curious if I can install that
side-by-side with VS 2003 Architect. Any known issues in that regard?

You can install both 2003 and 2005 side by side.

There should not be any problems -- however, if possible I would not install
Beta versions on a production system.

Today I installed Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Beta 2 from the Visual Studio Beta Experience Kit. After installing (which takes way to long) when I open Visual Studio 2005 I only get a message box saying "A problem was encountered loading the Microsoft Visual Studio menu. Please run setup and select Repair". I did that and that took another hour to install and I still got the same problem. Can't see any log file or system event message...

I installed vs.net 2005 on a machine that also has vs.net 2003 on it. Since all of the 2003 projects then got converted to 2005 projects, I decided to uninstall 2005 so that I could do some work on the 2003 projects. This worked OK, but now I want to re-install 2005 and it will not reinstall .net framework 2.0. I'm wondering if uninstalling 2005 also uninstalled some 2003 files as I now can't reinstall or uninstall 2003? When I try to...

Just wondering... Have you had any issues using both vs.net 2003 and 2005 beta on your machine? (including the 2 frameworks) Or, do they work pretty autonomously? Any suggestions? Thanks.

I was working on a VB Add-In in VS 2005 Beta 1 and after installing Beta 2 the Add-In disappeared from the IDE that is invoked to debug the Add-In. In other words, in Beta 1 when I started debugging the Add-In an instance of the IDE would open up that would load the Add-In. However, in Beta 2 the Add-In is not loaded when the instance of the IDE is invoked. Any idea how to get the Add-In to load for debugging? TIA!

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
