Hello everyone,
We are building a new web based e-mail client
"Fiezel" that will support IMAP, POP3 and SMTP protocols. Will be written in
php4.
I am trying to collect all the infomation on SNMP I can get and any other
protocols like POP3 infomation for desinging and developing for php4.
I have also collected the infomation wish I will try to support:
RFC2821: Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP)
RFC2822: Standard for ARPA internet...

Hi everybody,
I just would like to download the new mails I received on my POP3 server
(and keep a copy on the server)
I use PHP 4.3 and IMAP functions (they are compatible with both POP3 and
IMAP servers).
When I use OUTLOOK, no problem, in less than 5 seconds, it answers me:
" you have XX new messages"

I'm looking for an app that would allow me to
download mails from various POP3 accounts and
put them into my Exchange inbox on the server
side (rather than having to have outlook open
to do it all the time).
There are many products that do this, but
they're very expensive considering it's just
for me and just for tinkering.

I'm not asking for any code (although it would be nice if
someone got a sample).
But how would i design a web based POP3 client? I want the
users to be able to access the emails from Outlook, and
the web based email client. What i'm not sure how to
design is where to store the emails for the web based
client. Should i operate on the mailroot folder directly,
or create another folder on the server (or another
server), where the emails...

Hey All,
I am writing a POP3 control and I want to know how I can find out if it is a
new message or a message that I have already read. Can that be done. Is
there a flag I can check and set on the server to let me know? I also want
to know if it is possible to create folder schema in the POP3 mailboxes?
Thanks,
Sean

I have been searching for some sort of comparison of POP3 components that would
work with VB.NET.
So far, I have not had great luck.
I am hoping that maybe someone here can point me to a comparison and/or give any
feedback on ones you have used.
The application I am working on will interact with Exchange 2000 or 2003.
Most likely will use POP3, but might choose IMAP.
Will get about 20,000 emails per month that need to be retrieved and...

Like many people, I normally use Yahoo! Mail via the web and like to keep all
my emails stored on the Yahoo! server. However sometimes I can’t get access
to a PC/the web and I download my emails to a PDA/palmtop via POP3. The PDA
uses Windows Mobile software. Since using the PDA, I have had the problem of
emails disappearing from the Yahoo! server. However I think I now understand
how to avoid this.
It seems that Windows Mobile is...

I want to be able to allow people to check their email from my PHP
online application.
Given only the users 1) email address, 2) username (if applicable) and
3) password - how can I auto detect a remote IMAP/POP3 server so that
I can connect and fetch mail for the user. (Ultimately, I don't want
users to have to know what the IMAP/POP3 server name / port is .... I
would like to auto-detect all of that).
At first I thought I could use...

I would like to monitor a POP3 mailbox with multiple clients. However, I want
to ensure that each message is processed by only one client. In essence, I
would like to treat a POP3 mailbox like a queue.
From what I've read thus far, atomic message access (if this is the right term)
isn't a native feature of the POP3 protocol. Am I mistaken?
My approach thus far, is to have one thread connect to the mailbox periodically,
look for new...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
