POP3 component comparison

I have been searching for some sort of comparison of POP3 components that would
work with VB.NET.
So far, I have not had great luck.
I am hoping that maybe someone here can point me to a comparison and/or give any
feedback on ones you have used.
The application I am working on will interact with Exchange 2000 or 2003.
Most likely will use POP3, but might choose IMAP.
Will get about 20,000 emails per month that need to be retrieved and processed
by my application which will run in a service mode.
Most will be simple text only, with the occasional .jpg attachment.
Eventually, some messages will be displayed on a web page.

Currently, I am looking at products from the following vendors (other
suggestions welcome).
Mail.Net - www.abderaware.com
EasyMail.Net - www.quiksoft.com
IP*Works - www.nsoftware.com
Internet Mail - www.catalyst.com

Any feedback good or bad would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi, Could someone please recommend a good POP3 component that you've used successfully in your .NET projects? My only requirement is that the component be able to handle attachments and save them to a specified folder. Thanks, Sal

I'm writing a c# web app and I can't find a POP3 mail component. I found the SMTP component, but not a POP3 one. Seems like there should be one. What is the name of the POP3 component? or do I have to write my own?

I need to write a script that will check a catch-all mailbox (pop3) and send a non delivery report back to the sender of the email. Background info: I have a domain hosted on a site that offers unlimited email accounts... the problem is, emails sent to an invalid address on the domain aren't automatically returned as non-deliverable. I am, however, able to set up a catch-all address and able to pick up those emails. Id like to set up a...

Looking for reliable, robust dotnet component that can handle POP3+SMTP. I found some online but they suffered from the following problems: - incomplete or absent documentation (mostly freeware) - overkill (too many other protocols supported). We only need POP3 and SMTP. - outdated (built with VS 2002 and never updated) - bad code/poor design - too expensive If you know of a product that does not have the above problems, please let

Hello, I am looking for a smtp/imap/pop3-component to build an own mailserver. I searched all the web but the onliest I found were complete mailservers or components to fetch mails via pop3/imap or deliver mails via smtp. Where can I find such components/classes for dotnet. I want to build a windows mailserver that stores all the mails and data in my postgresql-database. I found no mailserver that could do that. Maybe if

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
